We report strong chiral coupling between magnons and photons in microwave waveguides that contain chains of small magnets on special lines. Large magnon accumulations at one edge of the chain emerge when exciting the magnets by a phased antenna array. This mechanism holds the promise of new functionalities in non-linear and quantum magnonics.
EMI and the Lamb Wave technology are two kinds of mainstream active detection method in health monitoring , which have a long-term development. Health monitoring based on the combination of the EMI technology and Lamb wave, can be either a single method to conduct monitoring and analysis of specific structure ,or two methods together to conduct more comprehensive damage monitoring.
To detect the pipes, this paper introduces the electro-mechanical impedance (EMI) method into online monitoring for the pipes. The pipes model with a Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) bonded on it is built. The finite element method is employed to analyze the electro-mechanical impedance of the PVDF, the conductance curves of PVDF are obtained with different damaging phase of the pipes, the root-mean-square deviation (RMSD) is used to assess the damage extent. The result indicates that EMI as a new detection method is effective in identifying the existence and severity of cracks in pipes. As the corrosion area increases, the difference of conductance curves becomes more obvious and the RMSD becomes larger.
At present, there is no effective online debonding monitoring method for solid rocket motor. In order to solve the problem, the electro-mechanical impedance (EMI) method is introduced into online debonding monitoring for solid rocket motor (SRM). The EMI model of PZT and SRM is developed. The finite element method is employed to analyze the electro-mechanical impedance of the PZT, the conductance curves of PZT are obtained with different damaging phase of SRM, the root-mean-square deviation (RMSD) is used to assess the aging level. The result indicates that EMI as a new detection method is effective in identifying the existence and severity of cracks in SRM. As the debonding area increases, the difference of conductance curves becomes more obvious and the RMSD becomes larger.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
