У статті представлена оцінка раритетної складової вищих водяних рослин водойм і водотоків м. Києва. Відмічено, що 14 видів макрофітів є рідкісними як для території міста, так і для України загалом. Із них міжнародний охоронний статус мають 5 видів, на державному рівні охороняються 3 види, 12 видів роз-глядаються як рідкісні для України. До переліку локально рідкісних макрофітів належать 3 види. На основі шкали критеріїв рідкісності видів Червоного списку МСОП запропоновано об'єктні категорії раритетності видів макрофітів для умов міста, в основу яких покладено визначення ступеня раритетності виду, динаміку локалітетів і частоту трапляння, що відображає загрозу зникнення виду з певної території. Созологічно цінні види вищих водяних рослин розподілено на три основні категорії: таксони, що перебувають під загрозою зникнення; вразливі, високого ризику зникнення і таксони з низьким рівнем ризику. Згідно з цими кри-теріями запропоновано включити до переліку созологічно цінних рослин 6 нових видів макрофітів, що є рідкісними для території Києва і потребують посилених заходів охорони на місцевому рівні. Зазначено, що 20 % (14 видів) сучасного списку вищих водяних рослин, які трапляються у місті, є созологічно цінними. Наведено характеристику рідкісних видів, оцінено їх охоронний статус. Розгля-нуто особливості поширення видів у водоймах міста, наведено дані щодо кіль-кості їх знахідок, ценотичної представленості й біотопічної приналежності. Від-мічено тенденцію до скорочення площ поширення таких видів, як Potamogeton trichoides, P. heterophyllus, Callitriche palustris.Ключові слова: вищі водяні рослини (водяні макрофіти), м.
