Electrochromic devices are fabricated by using polyaniline (PANI) doped with poly(styrene sulfonic acid) (PSS) as coloring electrodes, poly(ethylenedioxythiophene)‐poly(styrene sulfonic acid) (PEDOT‐PSS) as complementary electrodes, and hybrid polymer electrolytes as gel electrolytes. The device based on LiClO4‐based electrolyte (weight ratio of PMMA:PC:LiClO4 = 0.7:1.1:0.3) shows the highest optical contrast and coloration efficiency (333 cm2/C) after 1200 cycles in these devices, and the color changes from pale yellow (−0.5 V) to dark blue (+2.5 V). The spectroelectrochemical and electrochromic switching properties of electrochromic devices are investigated, the maximum optical contrast (ΔT%) of electrochromic device for ITO|PANI‐PSS‖PMMA‐PC‐LiClO4‐SiO2‖PEDOT‐PSS|ITO are 31.5% at 640 nm, and electrochromic device based on LiClO4‐based electrolyte with SiO2 shows faster response time than that based on LiClO4‐based electrolyte without SiO2.
An innovative watermarking scheme based on progressive transmission with genetic algorithms (GAs) is proposed. We implement the watermarking embedding and extraction systems in the transform domain, and apply the JPEG spectral selection mode for scalable transmission of the watermarked image. By employing a GA with a proper fitness function into the watermarking system, both the watermark imperceptibility and watermark robustness requirements are considered and optimized. The number of embedded bits, or the watermark capacity, is much larger than that in other existing algorithms in the literature. Also, the watermark capacity in the proposed algorithm lies within the theoretical limit. In addition, the embedded watermark can be partly extracted at the receiver side even when the watermarked image is being transmitted. Simulation results show both the robustness and the effectiveness of progressive transmission under different attacking schemes and different bandwidth variations. The proposed scheme is directly applicable to scalable coding of multimedia, such as MPEG-4 scalable video coding.
Using the National Health Insurance Research Database of Taiwan, the authors identified 1136 patients taking fixed-dose combination and 4544 patients taking free combinations of an angiotensin II receptor blocker and a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker from January 2009 to December 2012. At a mean follow-up of 2.1 years, the fixed-dose combination was associated with improved medication adherence and persistence and better survival free from major adverse cardiac events and hospitalization for heart failure compared with the free combination regimens.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
