Since the rapid development of information age and information technology might be considered to cause environmental problems, Green IT is perceived as core technology for low carbon green growth and the minimum waste of electricity. In this vein, Green IT is becoming new paradigm of focusing on natural environment. This study examines current various IT required for green growth, and studies various methods for diminution of carbon discharge in Korea and other countries. Especially, it focuses on the diminution effect of carbon discharge by using Green PC, and compares the difference of voltage, voltaic current, and the use of electricity between Normal PC and Green PC by using HPM-300A, and measures carbon discharge of Normal PC andGreen PC. The result shows that the diminution effect of CO2 discharge of Green PC is amount to 11.5Kg per year, and the effect of green growth is up to the conservation of 2 or 3 pine trees.※ 본 연구는
We present a quantitative evaluation of an algorithm for model-based face recognition. The algorithm actively learns how individual faces vary through video sequences, providing on-line suppression of confounding factors such as expression, lighting and pose. By actively decoupling sources of image variation, the algorithm provides a framework in which identity evidence can be integrated over a sequence. We demonstrate that face recognition can be considerably improved by the analysis of video sequences. The method presented is widely applicable in many multi-class interpretation problems.
In this paper, several problems functioning as the obstacles against software reuse were summarized. Among them, the issues dealt with in this paper include the effective method for constructing the library, the proper structure of the library, and the efficient retrieval technique. The knowledge-based approach and the information retrieval approach were integrated to construct and manage the library. The former is on the object-oriented model. Basically the object-oriented library is based on the classes and organized by inheritance. Because inheritance hierarchy is based on syntactical information, it dose not present the relationship of functionality. Using the information retrieval approach, the index file which characterizes the component and similarity among the components can be analyzed. Especially, we focused on the reusable library for the object-oriented programming environments.
