The exciter is a key component of the synchronous generator system with self-excited initiation. Based on the topology of hybrid excitation, this paper proposes a novel brushless exciter, which is suitable for an isolated power system. The parameters of the exciter are calculated by the numerical method based on finite element model, and the state space model is established. The experimental researches are carried out on a 3 kW prototype.
Due to low space utilization rate of traditional magnetic field generator, a novel 3D magnetic field generator with larger uniform region is proposed in this paper. In each dimension, a pair of auxiliary coil is introduced. To design this novel field generator, five model variables needs to be determined by computer optimization algorithm. Finally, a field generator was built to validate the design method, and the tested field result fits the desired one very well, maximum error is only 0.12%.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
