Fusarium solani f. robiniae n. f., one of the causal fusaria of the twig blight of Robinia pseudoacacia Takken MATUO* and Yoshio SAKURAI* The senior author2) identified the causal fungus of the twig blight of Robinia pseudoacacia, which broke out severely in the Tohoku district of Japan, with Fusarium lateritium (Nees) Snyd. et Hans.2). In this paper, another Fusarium sp., which causes the same disease though its virulence is less than the former, is described. The fungus which had been obtained in Yamagata Pref. by Mr. T. Kobayashi of the Government Forest Experiment Station was sent to the authors' laboratory for the identification. The fungus was an undescribed form (forma specialis) of Fusarium solani course of investigations, the authors recognized that the other isolates of fusaria, obtained from the decaying bark of Populus spp. in two districts of Japan, were the same form of this species.
