[figure: see text] The asymmetric hydrogenation of trifluoromethyl ketones to yield chiral alpha-trifluoromethyl alcohols with enantiomeric excesses up to 98% was achieved in the presence of chiral rhodium-(amidephosphine-phosphinite) complexes.
Photoredox-catalyzed allylation of α-gem-difluorinated organohalides with allyl sulfones proceeded smoothly under visible light irradiation to give 4,4-difluoroalkenes in good yields. In the presence of catalytic Ru(bpy) 3 Cl 2 , Hantzsch ester, and diisopropylethylamine, the reaction was complete within 2 h. Using the same methodology, three-component cascade reactions to give 6,6-difluoroalkenes were carried out successfully.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
