Hyper-activated melanocytes are the major cause of skin hyper-pigmentary disorders, such as freckles and melasma. Increasing efforts have been made to search for materials with depigmenting activity to develop functional cosmetics. As a result, numerous materials have been reported to have depigmenting activity but some of them are known to cause unwanted side effects. Consequently, anti-pigmentary natural compounds without concern of toxicity are in great demand. Virtually all sorts of natural sources have been investigated to find anti-pigmentary natural compounds. This review summarizes recently reported anti-pigmentary natural compounds and their mode of action from the ocean, plants, and bacteria.
Inversion symmetry is included in the operator formulation of the centroid molecular dynamics (CMD). This work involves the development of a symmetry-adapted CMD (SA-CMD), here particularly for symmetrization and antisymmetrization projections. A symmetry-adapted quasidensity operator, as defined by Blinov and Roy [J. Chem. Phys. 115, 7822 (2001)], is employed to obtain the centroid representation of quantum mechanical operators. Numerical examples are given for a single particle confined to one-dimensional symmetric quartic and symmetric double-well potentials. Two SA-CMD simulations are performed separately for both projections, and centroid position autocorrelation functions are obtained. For each projection, the quality of the approximation as well as the accuracy are similar to those of regular CMD. It is shown that individual trajectories from two separate SA-CMD simulations can be properly combined to recover trajectories for Boltzmann statistics. Position autocorrelation functions are compared to the exact quantum mechanical ones. This explicit account of inversion symmetry provides a qualitative improvement on the conventional CMD approach and allows the recovery of some quantum coherence.
1,2-Benzisothiazolin-3-one (BIT) is a commonly used organic biocide containing an isothiazolone ring. However, it may have adverse effects on human health and its risk needs to be properly evaluated. Dermal exposure is the main route of BIT exposure, and co-exposed substances may affect its absorption. The dermal permeation profile of BIT has not been well-studied. This study aimed to investigate the dermal permeation profiles of BIT with or without cosmetic use. Dermal permeation profiles of BIT were investigated after infinite- (100 μg/cm2), or a finite-dose (10 μg/cm2) application with or without cosmetics using a minipig skin and Strat-M®, an artificial membrane. A cream, lotion, and essence (namely, face serum) were pre-treated as representative cosmetics on minipig skin for 30 min, with BIT treatment afterward. After the treatment, BIT left on the skin surface was collected by cotton swabbing, BIT in the stratum corneum, by sequential tape stripping, and BIT retained in the remaining skin was extracted after cutting the skin into pieces before LC-MS/MS analysis. When an infinite dose was applied, permeation coefficients (Kp, cm/h) for minipig skin and Strat-M® were 2.63 × 10−3 and 19.94 × 10−3, respectively, reflecting that skin permeation was seven to eight times higher in Strat-M® than in the minipig skin. BIT, in the presence of cosmetics, rapidly permeated the skin, while the amount in the stratum corneum and skin deposit was reduced. We performed a risk assessment of dermally applied BIT in the absence or presence of cosmetics by calculating the skin absorption rate at 10 h based on the toxicological data from several references. The risk level was higher in the presence of essence as compared to lotion, which was higher than cream, which was higher than the control (non-treated). However, all of the margins of safety values obtained were greater than 100, suggesting that BIT is safe for use in dermally exposed consumer products. We believe that this research contributes to a greater understanding of the risk assessment of isothiazolinone biocides.
Oriental painting lesson is considered neglectedly, because of pressure on teachers and troublesomeness of preparing and using for art supplies. However, change of medium can solve pressure on teachers and students for Oriental painting lesson enough. Therefore this study will present composition of Oriental painting lesson planning using photoshop program as a way of overcoming weak points, increasing students' interests and giving effective composition lesson. We developed composition of Oriental painting lesson planning using layer of photoshop program. Then We surveyed 60 students who are two classes of the first grade in G high school to know the effect and possibility of the lesson planning and analyzed the results. The most(75%) of the respondents answered that composition of Oriental painting lesson planning using photoshop program was appropriate. The more than half (58.3%) respondents wanted to participated in lesson regardless of any subjects. That shows highly interest for photoshop program. The respondents answered that the merits of this lesson using photoshop program are less pressure for drawing(33.3%), possibility of variety expression(30%), not requiring art supplies(26.6%). So this study shows using photoshop program for art class can solve weak points of Oriental painting lesson.■ keyword :|Composition of Oriental Painting Lesson|Photoshop Program|Layer|
