Context Fibroblast senescence was reported to contribute to the pathological development of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), and baicalein is reported to attenuate IPF. Objective This study explores whether baicalein attenuates lung fibrosis by regulating lung fibroblast senescence. Materials and methods Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) mice were randomly assigned to control, bleomycin (BLM), baicalein and BLM + baicalein groups. Lung fibrosis was established by a single intratracheal dose of BLM (3 mg/kg). The baicalein group received baicalein orally (100 mg/kg/day). Sirtuin 3 (Sirt3) siRNA (50 μg) was injected through the tail vein once a week for 2 weeks to explore its effect on the anti-pulmonary fibrosis of baicalein. Results BLM-treated mice exhibited obvious lung fibrosis and fibroblast senescence by showing increased levels of collagen deposition (27.29% vs. 4.14%), hydroxyproline (208.05 vs. 40.16 ng/mg), collagen I (25.18 vs. 9.15 μg/mg), p53, p21, p16, MCP-1, PAI-1, TNF-α, MMP-10 and MMP-12 in lung tissues, which were attenuated by baicalein. Baicalein also mitigated BLM-mediated activation of TGF-β1/Smad signalling pathway. Baicalein restored the BLM-induced downregulation of Sirt3 expression in lung tissues and silencing of Sirt3 abolished the inhibitory role of baicalein against BLM-induced lung fibrosis, fibroblast senescence and activation of TGF-β1/Smad signalling pathway. Conclusions Baicalein preserved the BLM-induced downregulation of lung Sirt3 expression, and thus the suppression of TGF-β1/Smad signalling pathway and lung fibrosis, which might provide an experimental basis for treatment of IPF.
Purpose The development of risk prediction models for breast cancer lymphedema is increasing, but few studies focus on the quality of the model and its application. Therefore, this study aimed to systematically review and critically evaluate prediction models developed to predict breast cancer-related lymphedema. Methods PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, MEDLINE, CNKI, Wang Fang DATA, Vip Database, and SinoMed were searched for studies published from 1 January 2000 to 1 June 2021. And it will be re-run before the final analysis. Two independent investigators will undertake the literature search and screening, and discrepancies will be resolved by another investigator. The Prediction model Risk Of Bias Assessment Tool will be used to assess the prediction models’ risk of bias and applicability. Results Seventeen studies were included in the systematic review, including 7 counties, of which 6 were prospective studies, only 7 models were validation studies, and 4 models were externally validated. The area under the curve of 17 models was 0.680~0.908. All studies had a high risk of bias, primarily due to the participants, outcome, and analysis. The most common predictors included body mass index, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and axillary lymph node dissection. Conclusions The predictive factors’ strength, external validation, and clinical application of the breast cancer lymphedema risk prediction model still need further research. Healthcare workers should choose prediction models in clinical practice judiciously. Systematic review registration PROSPERO CRD42021258832
Purpose Exercise is the core element of rehabilitation for cancer patients. However, most of the patients’ exercise levels failed to meet the indicators recommended by the guidelines or even decreased. Therefore, this umbrella review aims to provide an overview of review articles addressing the evidence of interventions to promote physical activity behavior change and increase physical activity among cancer patients. Methods We searched nine databases from inception to 12 May 2022 to obtain systematic reviews and meta-analyses of interventions to promote physical activity among cancer patients. The AMSTAR-2 was used for the quality assessment. Results Twenty-six individual systematic reviews including 13 studies performed meta-analyses. A total of 16 studies’ designs were all in randomized controlled trial. Most reviews included studies that were mainly delivered in home settings. The most frequent and mean duration of the interventions was 12 weeks. Interventions mainly included electronic, wearable health technology-based, behavior change techniques (BCTs), and theory-based strategies. Conclusions Electronic, wearable health technology-based, BCTs, and theory-based interventions were effective and feasible in promoting physical activity in cancer survivors. Clinical practitioners should take corresponding intervention measures according to the characteristics of patients in different groups. Implications for cancer survivors Future research may benefit cancer survivors by more comprehensively applying electronic, wearable health technology-based, BCTs, and theory-based interventions.
Breast cancer (Breast Cancer, BC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in women in the world. It is the first malignant tumor that causes the death of women in developing countries. It seriously threatens the lives and health of women and causes damage to the family, economy and society. Through psychological nursing intervention, it has a positive effect on the perioperative mood and NK cell activity of breast cancer patients. The purpose of this article is to explore the effects of psychological intervention on the perioperative mood and NK cell activity of breast cancer patients. This article is based on the concept and theory of psychological nursing intervention for female breast cancer patients, and establishes personalized intervention measures in conjunction with clinical practice to intervene the emotions of breast cancer patients during the perioperative period. This article analyzes the nature, intensity, and causes of negative psychology of the subject through in-depth understanding of the subject’s psychological emotions, coping ability, personality characteristics, past emotional experience, and social support, and discovers the different emotional characteristics of the patient, and formulates the personality psychological intervention measures to stimulate positive and optimistic attitudes and ease the degree of negative psychology. This article analyzes the psychological characteristics of several breast cancer patients. Take corresponding psychological intervention measures. Cope with a series of bad psychology caused by image damage caused by total mastectomy. The results and data in this article show that the incidence of anxiety and depression in the control group is higher than that of the psychological intervention group at 7 days after the operation, with P values of 0.0059 and 0. 0215.Psychological intervention reduces the incidence of negative emotions and reduces the negativeness of patients. The intensity of emotion has played a good clinical effect.
