Building information modeling (BIM) implementation is expanding over time, and collaboration is becoming more critical in construction projects. Leadership characteristics may contribute to or hinder the effectiveness of these collaborations in BIM-based construction projects. However, the current body of knowledge lacks information on the leadership characteristics that can be constructive or destructive for BIM-based construction projects. Therefore, this study aims to determine the constructive and destructive leadership behaviors, skills, styles, and traits in BIM-based construction projects. An explorative qualitative study was conducted by interviewing twenty architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals. Then, the thematic analysis approach was used to analyze the interview data. The study findings suggest that common constructive leadership behaviors are tolerant and committed. Furthermore, the common constructive leadership trait and style is reliability. On the contrary, the common destructive leadership behavior is intolerant. This study provides the literature with a novel list of constructive and destructive leadership characteristics for BIM-based construction projects. Understanding these characteristics would assist industry professionals and policymakers in increasing the performance of BIM-based construction projects.

Implementing building information modeling (BIM) in construction projects can provide team members with an effective collaboration process. Therefore, organizations are implementing BIM to acquire the benefits. However, project members still use traditional collaborative approaches due to the lack of trust. Therefore, this study aims to identify the factors, challenges, and strategies of trust in BIM-based construction projects. To achieve this aim, semi-structured interviews were conducted with twenty industry professionals, and thematic analysis was used to analyze the collected data. The results suggest that the factors affecting trust in BIM-based construction projects are knowledge, skills, awareness, behavior, policy, system, cost, and management. Moreover, the challenges to creating trust in BIM-based construction projects are policy, cost, cooperation, system, service, behavior, expertise, and knowledge. Finally, the strategies used to create trust in BIM-based construction projects are management, preparation, capability, cooperation, awareness, individuals, education, and government. In summary, this study provides insights that can help industry practitioners to improve construction projects by reducing unnecessary distrust among team members.

Abstract. Tunnels are indispensable when installing new infrastructure as well as when enhancing the quality of existing urban living due to their unique characteristics and potential applications. Over the past few decades, there has been a significant increase in the building of tunnels, world-wide. Tunnelling projects are complex endeavors, and risk assessment for tunnelling projects is likewise a complex process. Risk events are often interrelated. Occurrence of a technical risk usually carries cost and schedule consequences. Schedule risks typically impact cost escalation and project overhead. One must carefully consider the likelihood of a risk's occurrence and its impact in the context of a specific set of project conditions and circumstances. A project's goals, organization, and environment impacts in the context of a specific set of project conditions and circumstances. Some projects are primarily schedule driven; other projects are primarily cost or quality driven. Whether a specific risk event is perceived fundamentally as a cost risk or a schedule risk is governed by the project-specific context. Many researchers have pointed out the significance of recognition and control of the complexity, and risks of tunnelling projects. Although all general information on a project such as estimated duration, estimated cost, and stakeholders can be obtained, it is still quite difficult to accurately understand, predict and control the overall situation and development trends of the project, leading to the risks of tunnelling projects. This paper reviews all the key risks for tunnelling projects from several case studies that have been carried out by other researchers. These risks have been identified and reviewed in this paper. As a result, the current risk management plan in tunnelling projects can be enhanced by including all these reviewed risks as key information.

Abstract. Green building development is an emerging paradigm for the construction industry practice all around the world. The establishement of Green Building rating tool helps to assess the whole life cycle process in planning to operation in a building. The Malaysian construction industry recognizes buildings that have been assessed using established green building tool such Green Building Index, Green RE or My CREST. Eventhough these rating tools provide motivation factors in its criteria and sub-criteria to promote sustainability in Malaysia buildings, there is still a major doubt to developers in terms of risks that may hinder their investments in green buildings. This paper highlights the priority importance of economic motivation factors against risks in the green building development in Malaysia. The data presented in this paper have been mainly derived from responses received through questionnaires completed by building stakeholders involved in green building developments. In order to determine the priority importance of economic motivation factors and risks identified for green building development, the questionnaire outcomes have been thoroughly assessed using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. As a result, lack of government incentive and high capital cost, which classified under green building risks, are the two key factors with highest priority importance that influenced most of the decision making for green building development in Malaysia. The results show green buildings have proliferated as governmental support and incentives with more exampler of higher profit return of investment in enhancing developers preference for green building development.

The importance of drainage-related risks associated with tunnelling projects requires special attention from tunnel operators to analyse and manage the risks. The optimal management of drainage-related risks in tunnelling projects involves multiple objectives such as flood management, maximisation of design capacity of drainage contamination and optimisation of overall drainage system. This paper focuses on identifying the key drainage-related risks that have great potential of occurring in highway tunnelling projects. The outcomes of this research are developed based on findings obtained from extensive literature review and case studies that have been conducted by a few researchers. The identified drainage-related risks will be reviewed in this paper. All these risks can be included as key information when drafting a new risk management plan or to be added into the existing risk management plan in order to enhance the operation and maintenance of tunnelling projects.
