Thin films of antimony sulfide have been deposited from chemical baths containing antimony trichloride and sodium thiosulfate maintained at 10°C. Upon annealing in nitrogen at 300°C for 1 h, the films become photosensitive with photo-to dark-current ratio of two to three orders of magnitude at 2 kW m2 tungsten halogen radiation. The annealed films are crystalline with an X-ray diffraction pattern matching that of stibnite, 5b753, (JCPDS 6-0474) and show an optical bandgap of 1.78 eV. Deposition of a thin film of CuS on the antimony sulfide thin film and subsequent annealing in nitrogen at 250°C for 1 h produces films with acceptable solar control characteristics: integrated visible transmittance, 15%; integrated visible reflectance, 12%; integrated infrared transmittance, Tir, 14%; integrated infrared reflectance, R1,, 36%; and a shading coefficient of about 0.35. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the annealed 5b757-CuS thin films indicate the formation of a ternary compound with the structure of famatinite, Cu35b54.
Solubilization and stabilization techniques for magnetic nanoparticles in water and in non-aqueous solvents are reviewed.
We report a method for obtaining thin films of polycrystalline antimony selenide via chemical bath deposition followed by heating the thin films at 573 K in selenium vapor. The thin films deposited from chemical baths containing one or more soluble complexes of antimony, and selenosulfate initially did not show X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns corresponding to crystalline antimony selenide. Composition of the films, studied by energy dispersive X-ray analyses indicated selenium deficiency. Heating these films in presence of selenium vapor at 573 K under nitrogen (2000 mTorr) resulted in an enrichment of Se in the films. XRD peaks of such films matched Sb 2 Se 3. Evaluation of band gap from optical spectra of such films shows absorption due to indirect transition occurring in the range of 1-1.2 eV. The films are photosensitive, with dark conductivity of about 2 Â 10 À 8 (V cm) À 1 and photoconductivity, about 10 À 6 (V cm) À 1 under tungsten halogen lamp illumination with intensity of 700 W m À 2. An estimate for the mobility life time product for the film is 4 Â 10 À 9 cm 2 V À 1 .
The objective was to explore obese adolescents' perceptions about obesity among students in the seventh to ninth grade of a public school in Tamaulipas, Mexico. This is a qualitative study. Participants were 24 adolescents with a body mass index equal to or greater than the 95th percentile. Semistructured interviews were conducted until data saturation was reached and the meaning was understood. The adolescents defined obesity according to standards of measurement. They identified the hereditary factor as the main obesity cause, tended to underestimate obesity and had low self-esteem. They reported problems to do physical exercise and get clothes in order to improve their image, and feel rejected by their peers in school. It was identified that these adolescents have psychological defense mechanisms against obesity and that some of them are making efforts to lose weight.Obesity entails social and psychological health implications for persons suffering from this problem. Interventions should be put in practice. .Given the importance of continuing education to improve nursing practice, research has been done to study the phenomenon of nursing staff members' participation and to try and explain the reasons that motivate individuals to take part in continuing education activities. Results have found that motivational orientations of nursing staff are the main force to start participatory behavior, which can also be positively and/or negative influenced by demographic variables, life situation and the structure of the education opportunity (9)(10) .In some countries, nurses' participation in continuing education has been made obligatory, based on the premise that professionals lack motivation to voluntarily update their knowledge and skills without external pressure. However, studies carried out in places where participation is obligatory haveconcluded that these groups demonstrate the same pattern of motivational orientations as professionals who voluntarily take part in continuing education, that is, they are motivated by cognitive interests and by a desire for professional advancement (3,9-10) . and teaching strategies to the participants' needs (9) . If, as shown by current research, continuing education contributes to the quality of nursing care, the reasons that influence professionals' participation become more significant for the nursing profession (11)(12) . These are some of the elements that constituted the base for this study. We aim to study the effect of personal and professional factors, as well as motivational orientations, on the participation of nursing staff at two health institutions, one public and another private. THEORETICAL FRAMEWORKMost people cannot express the reasons for getting involved in an activity as complex as continuing education. Initial studies found that individuals participating in continuing education stood out by their type of motivation to participate and were classified in three groups: the first was classified as "goal-oriented", that is, people using education as a way of achieving clear objectives. The second group of "activity-oriented" professionals participate for reasons unrelated to the objectives or contents of the activities they enroll in.They take courses to join groups, looking for social contact. Their relation to the activity is essentially based on the quantity and type of human relations they can obtain. The third group is "learning-oriented" and seeks knowledge for its own value. Although the author observed that this is not a rigid classification and that the types of motivation are probably represented best by three superposed circles, distinction is clearly the main emphasis (13) .Later, based on the above classification, the reasons were identified why individuals participate in continuing education. These have been described as motivational orientations, that is, the dimensions underlying the reasons for participating in continuing education programs, which reflect the individual's current level of needs, beliefs, values, attitudes and perceptions related to ...
