This report is to illustrate how contemporary Japanese architects construct a conceptual framework in their design theory with a point of view of scale. Scale is one of the most varied and important general conceptions of architecture. In this report, scale is difined as two aspects, size and proportion. Firstly, the content of each article was considered and classified into four categories based on their background context for architecture. Secondly, two forms of architectural thought were considered from their texts -the aspect for spatial recognition; [size], [compound]. Finally, the relationship between the content of background context and two forms of architectural thought was considered and analyzed totally.
