This paper investigates an improved active power control method for variable speed wind turbines to enhance the inertial response and damping capability during transient events. The optimized power point tracking controller which shifts the turbine operating point from the maximum power point tracking curve to the virtual inertia control curves according to the frequency deviation is proposed to release the "hidden" kinetic energy and provide dynamic frequency support to the grid. The effects of the virtual inertia control on power oscillation damping capability are theoretically evaluated. Compared to the conventional derivative regulator based inertia control, the proposed control scheme can not only provide fast inertial response, but also increase the system damping capability during transient events. Thus, inertial response and power oscillation damping function can be obtained in a single controller by the proposed optimized power point tracking control. A prototype three-machine system containing two synchronous generators and a PMSG based wind turbine with 31 percent of wind penetration is tested to validate the proposed control strategy on providing rapid inertial response and enhanced system damping.
Distribution of SARS-CoV-2 virus and pathological features of multiple organs in COVID-19 patients remains unclear, which interferes with the improvement of COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment. In this article, we summarize the pathological findings obtained from systematic autopsy (37 cases) and percutaneous multiple organ biopsy (“minimally invasive autopsy”, 54 cases). These findings should shed light on better understanding of the progression of COVID-19 infection and the means of more effective intervention.
In the past decade, bacteria‐based cancer immunotherapy has attracted much attention in the academic circle due to its unique mechanism and abundant applications in triggering the host anti‐tumor immunity. One advantage of bacteria lies in their capability in targeting tumors and preferentially colonizing the core area of the tumor. Because bacteria are abundant in pathogen‐associated molecular patterns that can effectively activate the immune cells even in the tumor immunosuppressive microenvironment, they are capable of enhancing the specific immune recognition and elimination of tumor cells. More attractively, during the rapid development of synthetic biology, using gene technology to enable bacteria to be an efficient producer of immunotherapeutic agents has led to many creative immunotherapy paradigms. The combination of bacteria and nanomaterials also displays infinite imagination in the multifunctional endowment for cancer immunotherapy. The current progress report summarizes the recent advances in bacteria‐based cancer immunotherapy with specific foci on the applications of naive bacteria‐, engineered bacteria‐, and bacterial components‐based cancer immunotherapy, and at the same time discusses future directions in this field of research based on the present developments.
Journal: Internet Research PurposeThis study aims to examine what influence travelers' adoption of online reviews, and whether the online reviews will influence their travel planning decisions.Design/methodology/approach Data was collected from 193 respondents from eWOM websites and analyzed using structural equation modeling. FindingsOur results revealed that eWOM has a significant influence on travel decisions. Furthermore, travelers were willing to adopt information from eWOM and this information was useful in their travel planning and decisions. Gender and time spent on online reviews were found to affect travel planning and decisions. Travelers also found that the reviews and issues raised in eWOM had credibility and were of good quality. Research limitations/implicationsOur study was not able to incorporate all factors which may be relevant to this study and so further theoretical development may be necessary to develop the conceptual model. The sample size, while adequate, can be expanded further. Practical implicationsOperators and administrators of eWOM can use these findings to develop more userfriendly interfaces so that more positive reviews and sales can be generated. Social implicationsOur results showed that travelers who adopt the information in eWOM will, in turn, use eWOM in their travel planning. This confirms the importance of eWOM and travelers in general will translate their pre-travel decisions into actual travel planning. Originality/valueThis research extended existing eWOM and information system adoption studies and focused on the travel planning context. This research validated the significant roles of eWOM argument quality and credibility in predicting the information usefulness of eWOM.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
