Abstract. The happiness of the residents of nursing homes becomes important with the presence of various accompanying life problems. This research aims to see the relationship between social support and elderly happiness. It involves 40 respondents with good hearing of both sexes aged >/= 60 years, free of diagnosis of depression, dementia or neurological or psychopathological disorders. The sample is selected by a purposive technique. Happiness measurement with a questionnaire that refers to the indicator of Happiness by Seligman (2002) which consists of positive emotions or positive activities. The indicator is divided into three parts; addressed to the past (grateful and forgiving), the future (faith, believe, hope, and optimistic) and now (gratuity and pleasure). As to the social support I adapt the scale from The MOS Social Support Survey by Sherbourne and Stewart (1991) with four dimensions of functional support: emotional/informational, tangible, affectionate, and positive social interactions. The result confirms that there is a significant positive relation between social support and happiness. The implication of this research is the importance of social support for the elderly to increase happiness in social institutions. Cultural heritage is an object or intangible attribute which is an identity of a society inherited from previous generations, which is preserved for generations to come. Cultural heritage contains not only an objects but also an intangible object such as languages, dialects, and rituals. One of Intangible culture is Sindang Beliti dialect which is from South Sumatera Province. Sindang Beliti dialect included in the Austronesian language used by Sindang tribes which is Lembak, Lembak delapan, and Muara Beliti. This study aimed to determine causal factors of sindang beliti dialect was shifted, and find out what were efforts to maintain the dialect. This study used quantitative-method which data collected by distributing questionnaires to 30 respondents included people, linguists, and Musi Rawas district government. Theory used in this study are from Holmes (2001) and Fishman (1972). The results of this study indicated that there were 3 casual factors of sindang beliti dialect was shifted. They were social, demographic, and legal factors. There were also found 5 efforts to maintain sindang beliti dialect included holding regional song competitions in every anniversary celebration of Musi Rawas district, producing radio broadcasts used sindang beliti dialect, building a playground with the name taken from sindang beliti dialect which is "taman beregam", creating Instagram account used sindang beliti dialect in every posts, and using sindang beliti dialect in government slogan such as "payo ke hikak".
ABSTRAK: Permasalahan dalam Bahasa Pengantar dalam Pembelajaran Kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskrifsikan apa saja problematika penggunaan bahasa pengantar, dan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskrifsikan apa penyebab kondisi problematika penggunaan bahasa pengantar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Dalam ruang-ruang pengajar anter tentu dapat terjadi kekacauan bahasa karena penggunaan dua dialek sekaligus selama waktu yang digunakan untuk latihan-latihan mendidik dan belajar. Hal inilah yang pada umumnya akan terjadi dalam ranah persekolahan. Dalam ranah pelatihan, tugasbahasa Indonesia memiliki bagian yang vital, selama waktu yang dihabiskan untuk mengajar dan mempelajari latihan. Bahasa pengantar yang digunakan oleh guru supaya peserta didik bisa memamahi materi pembelajaran dengan baik yaitu dengan menggunakan bahasa serawai atau bahasa daerah, hal ini dikarenakan siswa lebih memahami jika guru menyampaikan materi pembelajaran dengan guru menggunkan bahasa serawai atau bahasa daerah bukan dengan bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar. Guru melakukan hal ini agar siswa memahami apa yang mereka sampaikan dan guru juga lebih mudah menjelaskan kepada peserta didik jika guru menggunakan bahasa daerah proses pembelajaran juga lebih efektif dan efisien peserta didik menerimah materi yang diajarkan.SD Negeri ini mayoritas dari daerah (dusun) sehingga masih kental sekali mereka mengguakan bahasa dearah sebagai alat berkomunikasi. Di lingkungan mereka tinggal mereka juga tidak perna mendengar bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar bahkan keluarga mereka juga tidak pernah mengucapkan bahsa Indonesia. Di sekolah guru juga menggunakan bahasa daerah sebagai bahasa pengantar proses pembelajaran apalagi guru yang memiliki daerah yang sama dengan peserta didik.
Most of the students decided to invest in learning English was because of the perceived capital that provided them with benefits for their academics as well as their future careers. This study used a qualitative narrative inquiry by using interviews and documentation instruments. This study was included the interviewed with seven participants of ninth grader at one of SMPN in Musi Rawas. This study was aimed to investigate the factors affecting the students’ investment in learning English at one of SMPN in Musi Rawas invested in learning English during online learning. The students invested in learning English was because of From the interviews, the results of this study was indicated that: (1) the most dominant factors affecting the ninth students invested in learning English was family support, the second dominant factor was better English achievement, and the last dominant factor was past experience. This study findings confirmed that the seven students had been put some efforts in their investment in learning English in order to acquire their goals in the present and also future. Then, they also wanted to improve their English language skill. Furthermore, this study may help the students understand about the importance of learning English in the present and also in the future.
