Fundamentally Minangkabaunese students are those who can work industriously and seriously in accomplishing their tasks. However, currently, they prefer getting something instantaneously without considering the quality. The fact attracted researcher to investigate how to make them back to basic character. This paper analyzes a model of discourse and how to implement it at university level. Therefore, six lecturers who taught at English Department at Teacher College Sumatera Barat, which is called STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat, along with their students, were selected as participants. They were selected purposively. Data were collected by using video recording and by interviewing them and analyzed by following qualitative analysis. Findings can be described that SHARINGPLUS (Stimulating, Handled with consensus, Appropriateness-based, Revising, Illustrating, Negotiating, Goal-oriented, Patient, Loving, Unforgettable, and Sympathetic) model is appropriate to apply when communicating learning tasks to Minangkabaunese students. Therefore, those who want to make students study hard can adapt the model based on the existing situation and condition.
This research is aimed at measuring experts' validation on the use of LMS by Senior High School and Vocational High School teachers in West Sumatera in online learning. The researchers used two validators as the experts in e learning who had done many researches in e learning. Indicators of construct validity were adopted from Gendon Barus, with 16 aspects of instrument quality. The aspects were used to asses each item in the instrument. Data were collected through questionnaire. Then they were analyzed quantitatively by using Aiken's V. Result showed that the construct validity of the instrument is .712 with the V is .712 > .600. Based on the result, the researchers conclude that instrument is valid so that it can be used in investigating the use of LMS by the teachers.
This paper discusses managing the senior high school students’ interaction through task-based learning. The writer has collected some theories from some experts about interaction and task based learning. It is true that interaction in learning will be managed by the teacher, in this case, through task-based learning. Having analyzed and discussed the theories, the writer can draw conclusion that English competencies could be gained if the teacher can provide English environment for the students. The more the teacher can provide English environment in learning process, the better English competencies the students can master. Therefore, the teacher is suggested to expose English very frequently, so that the students can listen, speak, read, and write English. These activities can be done by involving the students in interaction through task-based learning by building control of the field task, modeling, having joint construction, and having independent construction.
