The objectives of this study were: (1) to describe the application of occupational safety and health in the machinery industry in the Yogyakarta area, (2) describe the application of OSH in vocational schools in Yogyakarta and (3) evaluate how the application of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in the machinery industry if applied in the implementation of OSH in vocational schools. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. Research subjects are PT. Mega Andalan Kalasan, PT. Yogya Presisi Tehnikatama Industri, CV. Karya Hidup Sentosa, SMK Negeri 2 Depok Sleman, SMK Negeri 2 Yogyakarta, and SMK Muhammadyah 3 Yogyakarta. Data collection used observation and interviews. The results of the study: (1) The machinery and manufacturing industry in the Yogyakarta area has carried out OSH aspects including occupational safety, occupational health, and OSH management in accordance with the OSH application rules for industry, (2) SMKs in the Yogyakarta area have not implemented all aspects of OSH implementation in accordance with industry standards. The application of occupational safety aspects is still lacking, the application of occupational health is still lacking, and management aspects have not been implemented, and (3) SMKs should implement OSH management in accordance with industry standards, especially OSH management, namely: (a) OSH education and training, (b) socialization of OSH in schools, and (c) provision of personal protective equipment, and (d) health services in schools.
This research aims to develop and examine the feasibility level of the video tutorials for the Manufacturing Drawing subject in state vocational high school SMKN 2 Pengasih using the Inventor 2013 software. This research employs the research and development (R&D) model. The product assessment or validation was done by experts in the subject and the media, followed by an initial and final testing by the research participants. The obtained data are analyzed using the descriptive analysis technique. The product of the research is a set of MP4 video tutorials with 1280 x 720 format, not-too-long duration, texts, voice narration, and music accompaniment, which are put together in a PowerPoint program. The mean scores of the product in the subject materials assessment, media assessment, initial testing, and final testing are 3.30, 3.55, 3.37, and 3.18, respectively. The total mean score of the product (3.35) is classified as Very Good, which means that the video tutorials are feasible for use.
This study aims to describe the extent of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) implementation in the manufacturing industries compared with that in the Mechanical Engineering study program of the vocational high schools (VHSs) in Yogyakarta Special Region. It uses the qualitative descriptive statistical analysis with data collection techniques covering field studies with direct observation and interviews. The research participants, the employees of the manufacturing industries and the VHSs’ Mechanical Engineering teachers in Yogyakarta Special Region, were determined purposively. The results show that the application of OHS in the industrial workplaces is somehow better than that in the VHS’s Mechanical Engineering study program in the researched region. In general, the problems of the OHS application in VHSs are perhaps triggered by the lack of health and safety equipment, facilities, and infrastructure in the mechanical engineering workshops and the poor OHS management system (OHSMS). The recommendations made are that VHSs improve the OHSMS, conducting OHS education and training programs for the VHS teachers and staffs, and using rewards and sanctions for all of the school community members.

Metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan pendekatan Dick & Carie. Penelitian dilakukan di Bantul dan Wates, Kulon Progo. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa SMK yang menempuh mata diklat CAD. Hasil uji coba pada skala besar menunjukkan bahwa modul CAD layak untuk diterapkan dalam uji coba pembelajaran CAD. Modul mendapatkan kategori respons sangat layak dari siswa untuk: (a) aspek fungsi dan manfaat dengan skor rerata 24,42 , (b) aspek kemenarikan dengan skor rerata 37,73 , (c) aspek materi pembelajaran dengan skor rerata 30,70. Metode pembelajaran CAD ditempuh dengan urutan sebagai berikut: (1) menentukan KD, (2) menentukan materi, (3) menentukan benda/obyek, (4) memotivasi dengan mengaitkan materi ajar dengan konteks lingkungan, (5) penentuan kelompok heterogen, pemberian tugas, (6) diskusi kelompok, (7) tugas mandiri, (8) penilaian, (9) refleksi hasil dan umpan balik. Pembelajaran CAD menggunakan modul berbasis CTL dapat meningkatkan prestasi sebesar 19%, atau dari 71.18, menjadi 84.64. PENDAHULUANPendidikan merupakan modal penting dan mendasar untuk mewujudkan suatu bangsa yang kokoh dan terlepas dari keterpurukan. Kebutuhan akan sumber daya manusia yang kreatif dan profesional nampak menjadi kebutuhan mendesak. Terlebih dengan diberlakukannya pasar bebas ASEAN tahun 2015 mengakibatkan adanya perubahan struktur ketenagakerjaan (Paulus, 2014) dan standar sertifikasi yang mempunyai tuntutan yang semakin tinggi. Untuk itu sistem pendidikan di Indonesia perlu dipersiapkan menjadi sistem yang tangguh dan bernilai jual tinggi dengan berbasis pada potensi lokal sebagai penangkal terhadap ketergantungan dan inferioritas pada dunia luar.This research aims to define a construct of CTL-based learning model on CAD subject. The learning model is intended for vocational high school students to improve their CAD competence. The research method being used was Research and Development methods implementing Dick and Carrie's approach. The research was carried out in Bantul and Kulonprogo district. The subject was SMK students underwent CAD subject learning. The result of large scale test shows that the CAD learning model is appropriate to be implemented in the CAD teaching and learning. The modul gained a strong positive response from the students in the functional and benefit aspects, with an average score of 24.42. The modul also gained a strong positive response from the attractiveness aspect with an average score of 37.73. Students also found that it is very appropriate in the learning material aspect, shown by an average score of 30.70.
