Our data demonstrated that CAM at a clinically achievable dose prevented cigarette smoke-induced emphysema by modulating lung inflammation. This study supports the possibility that low-dose CAM treatment might provide a new therapeutic strategy for chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.
