This research aimed to analyze the needs of EarthComm-based learning multimedia of geography, the effectiveness of the multimedia to improve students' motivation and spatial ability; and analyze the feasibility of multimedia utilization in two public high schools in Surakarta by using ADDIE development model. The data of learning multimedia needs were collected by distributing questionnaires to the targeted correspondents (2 teachers and 30 students). Meanwhile, regarding the effectiveness of the multimedia in improving students' spatial ability and motivation, the data were collected by utilizing Spatial Thinking Ability Test (STAT) and questionnaires. The assessment of feasibility was done by distributing experts' validation sheet and students' assessment. The data analysis tool used was one-way ANOVA. The result of the need analysis shows that >75% of students have medium level of motivation, >90% of students have low spatial ability, and >80% of the students need a more innovative geography lesson. After implementing EarthComm-based geography multimedia learning, it is known that the multimedia is effective to improve the students' motivation and spatial ability which is shown by the significance value gained (0.00<0.05). Furthermore, based on the experts' judgment and small-scale trials done, it is concluded that the EarthComm-based geography multimedia learning is feasible to be implemented.

Mereka seringkali melihat lingkungan hidupnya "tidak bermasalah" dan membangun sistem kepercayaan religi maupun praktik-praktik ekologis yang "mendomestifikasi" ancaman bahaya. Dengan menggunakan konsepsi produksi ruang Lefebvre dan Actor-Network Theory Latour, makalah ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana komunitas di KRB Merapi berupaya hidup bersama bencana, yakni beradaptasi terhadap letusan yang terus berevolusi dengan mengandalkan jejaring sosial dan memperluasnya dengan komunitas lain di luar KRB. Dalam konteks ini jejaring sosial bisa menjembatani isolasi suatu wilayah sehingga kedekatan dengan sumber ancaman tidak otomatis meningkatkan kerentanan dan risiko bencana komunitas di KRB. <p class="Default">Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Mengidentifikasi kebutuhan belajar siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Sragen 2016/2017, (2) menentukan kelayakan Pembelajaran Soal Berbasis GIS (PBL-GIS) e-book yang dikembangkan di SMA N 1 Sragen tahun 2016/2017, (3) menentukan perbedaan kemampuan berpikir spasial sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan e-book PBL-GIS pada materi pelajaran Lithosfer di kelas X IPS SMA N 1 Sragen 2016/2017. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R & D). Tahapan R & D yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) kebutuhan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran antar media lain yang dikemas dengan kreatif dan tidak monoton dalam teks, namun perlu ditambahkan video, begitu pula penggunaan model pembelajaran outdoor bagi siswa untuk segera kenali kejadian yang terjadi di sekitarnya; (2) hasil validasi tim ahli menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 73,2% termasuk dalam kriteria yang memenuhi syarat. Uji coba tanggapan siswa menunjukkan respon positif dengan persentase 83,2% termasuk kriteria yang sangat layak; (3) perhitungan efektivitas media pembelajaran menggunakan t-test dan hasil tarithmetic = 10,244> ttabel = 1,67. Ini berarti hipotesis penelitian diterima atau dengan kata lain, ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan buku berbasis PBL-GIS dalam materi pelajaran litosfer di kelas X IPS SMAN 1 Sragen. di tahun 2016/2017.</p><p class="Default"> </p><p class="Default">Kata kunci: metode penelitian dan pengembangan, e-Book Problem Based Learning-GIS, Keterampilan Berpikir Spasial, Litosfer.</p><p class="Default"> </p>
The aim of this research was to evaluate the importance of disaster learning multimedia in improving the students'understanding and preparedness of disaster for high school students. There are four disaster learning multimedia that were experimented in classroomie floods, landslides, eruption and tidal floods. After using the multimedia in the learning process, students were asked to fill out a questionnaire containing responses about the use of multimedia in the learning process.The result of the research showed that based on the questionnaire analysis, the use of disaster multimedia learning made the students understand more about the cause of disaster, the process of disaster, the impact of the disaster and the mitigation/adaptation that need to be done for disaster risk reduction. While the results of the test showed that the utilization of disaster learning multimedia was effective in improving students' preparedness in facing disaster.
