The aim of this study is to examine the mediation role of internet addiction in the relationship between loneliness and depression. 452 university students (241 women, 211 men) ranging in age from 17 to 31 and who are receiving education in different faculties at Firat University in Turkey participated in the study. UCLA Loneliness Scale, Young Internet Addiction Test Short Form, and Indication Scanning List was applied to the participants. The data were analyzed with correlation, regression, hierarchical regression analysis, and Sobel Z test. According to correlation analysis, there are relations in a positive way among loneliness, depression, and internet addiction. In reference to regression analysis, loneliness predicts internet addiction and depression. However, internet addiction also predicts depression as well. As a result of hierarchical regression analysis to determine the mediation role of internet addiction, it was monitored that internet addiction has partial mediation in the relation between loneliness and depression. In addition to that, it was confirmed that this mediation predicts at a significant level with Sobel Z Test. The findings of the study demonstrate a partial mediation role of internet addiction in the relation between loneliness and depression. According to this result, it can be stated that loneliness and internet addiction are risk factors for depression. In terms of studies on depression, the results of this study can be taken into consideration.
The purpose of this study was to examine self-efficacy perceptions of school counselors regarding special education as a predictor of occupational burnout. A total of 414 school counselors attended the study, including 192 females and 222 males, who served in various institutions in Malatya and Samsun provinces in 2015. The mean age of the participants was 34.2. In the study, School Counselors' Self-efficacy Scale, Burnout Syndrome Inventory Short Version, and demographic form were used as data collection tools. In the analysis of the obtained data, t-test, correlation and simple linear regression analysis were used. Results indicated that occupational burnout levels of school counselors differentiated significantly in favor of women by gender. It was concluded that school counselors had a moderately significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and occupational burnout in special education. Additionally, self-efficacy in special education explained approximately 13% of occupational burnout.
ÖzBu çalışmada uzun yıllar tek eşle evli olan bireylerin evlilik ve evlilik yaşantılarına ilişkin görüşleri incelenmiştir. Araştırma evlilik süreleri 30 ile 63 (ortalama 42) yıl arasında değişen 6 kadın ve 6 erkek katılımcı ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri katılımcılarla yapılan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yoluyla elde edilmiştir. Görüşmeler de katılımcılara evlilik ve evlilik yaşantılarını irdeleyen toplam on iki soru yöneltilmiştir. Görüşmeler ortalama 50-55 dakika sürmüş ve profesyonel zeminde kayıt altına alınmıştır. Çalışmanın verileri bu kayıtların nitel çözümlemesi ve içerik analizi yöntemiyle incelenmesi yoluyla elde edilmiştir. Katılımcıların görüşleri değerlendirildiğinde, cevapların dört ana kategori altında toplandığı görülmüştür. Bunlar, (a) evlilik algısı, (b) evlilikte yaşanan sorunlar ve çözüm yaklaşımları, (c) evliliklerinin uzun sürme gerekçeleri ve (d) evliliği sürdürmede ideal eş özellikleridir. Verilerin analizi sonunda, katılımcıların %20'si evliliği "yuva" olarak gördüğünü, %17.9'unun çocuk sahibi olma yolu olarak gördükleri ortaya çıkmıştır. Evlilikte ortaya çıkan sorunları %26'sı küs kalmayarak, %19,2'si hediye alarak çözdüklerini ifade etmişlerdir. Ortalama 40 yılın üzerinde bir süredir evli olan katılımcılar, evliliklerinin uzun yıllar devam etmesinin gerekçesi olarak, birbirine saygı duymayı (%13.8), mutluluğu eşinde aramayı (%10.3) ve aileye bağılı olmayı (%10.3) ifade etmişlerdir. Sonuçlar evliliğe yüklenilen anlamın, sorunların çözümünde seçilen sorun çözme yollarının ve eşe ilişkin değerlendirmelerin evliliğin uzun ve mutlu sürmesinde önemli etkiye sahip olduğunu göstermektedir.Anahtar Sözcükler: Evlilik, Aile, Evlilikte Eş Rolü, Uzun Evlilikler. AbstractIn this study, it was examined the views related to marriages and marital lives of individuals who have married with one spouse for a long time. This study was made with 6 female and 6 male participants who have different durations of marriages change between 30 and 63 years (mean is 42 years). The data of the study were obtained with semi-structured interviews made with the participants. Totally twelve questions examined the marriages and marital lives were directed to the participants. Interviews took 50-55 minutes on average and were recorded professionally. The data of the study were achieved by the way of qualitative analysis of these records and examination with content analysis method. When the views of the participants were considered, it was seen that the answers grouped under four main categories. These are (a) marriage perception, (b) problems experienced in marriages and solution approaches, (c) the reasons of took a long time marriages, and (d) ideal partner specialities in maintaining marriages. At the end of the analysis of the data, it become evident that 20% of participants see marriage as a home, 17.9% see marriage as a way of having children.
