Introduction: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of dental anomalies in a subpopulation of orthodontic patients with agenesis of maxillary lateral incisors (MLI). Methods:The material of the present study included the records of the 1964 orthodontic patients. Panoramic radiographs and dental casts were used to analyze other associated eight dental anomalies, including agenesis of other teeth, dens invaginatus, dens evaginatus, peg shaped MLI, taurodontism, pulp stone, root dilaceration and maxillary canine impaction. Results: Out of the 1964 patients examined, 90 were found to have agenesis of MLI, representing a prevalence of 4.6%. The most commonly found associated-anomalies were agenesis of other teeth (23.3%), peg-shaped MLIs (15.6%), taurodontism (42.2%), and dilacerated teeth (18.9%). Conclusion:Permanent tooth agenesis, taurodontism, peg-shaped maxillary lateral incisor, and root dilacerations are frequently associated with maxillary lateral incisor agenesis.
The UCLP group showed statistically significantly smaller values for interorbital width, maxillary width, maxillary intermolar width, and upper face height than the noncleft controls.
Our results show that the presence of this anomaly should be carefully examined using preoperative lateral radiographs before lateral mass screw placement. If a PP is suspected or confirmed on radiographs, 3-D CBCT scanning should be considered before lateral mass screw placement into the posterior arch because of the variation in the size and shape of PPs and the possibility of injury.

Knowledge of transverse dimension of the dental, alveolar and skeletal widths with maxillary lateral incisor agenesis patients is important for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of taurodontism in a north Anatolian dental patient subpopulation, considering factors such as dental localization. Methods: We designed a descriptive study evaluated of panoramic radiography of 1044 patients who presented to our Endodontic Services of Dentistry Faculty, Ordu University, in the city of Ordu in the north of Turkey. All the data (age and sex) were obtained from Turcasoft software (Samsun, Turkey). Patients who were less than 15 years at the time of the radiographic examination, records with poor quality radiographs and records with radiographs of only primary teeth were excluded.
