Bu araştırmada, sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının matematiksel problem çözmeye yönelik inançları ile problem kurma özyeterlik inançlarının belirlenmesi ve farklı değişkenler açısından incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturan; bir devlet üniversitesinin sınıf öğretmenliği bölümünde öğrenim görmekte olan toplam 171 sınıf öğretmeni adayı ile uygulamalar gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yapılan bu uygulamalarda veri toplama aracı olarak; "Kişisel Bilgi Formu", "Matematiksel Problem Çözmeye Yönelik İnanç Ölçeği" ve "Problem Kurma Özyeterlik İnanç Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Verilerin istatistiksel çözümleri Bağımsız Örneklem t-Testi, Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi (ANOVA) ve Pearson Çarpım Korelasyon Katsayısı tekniği kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Yapılan incelemeler sonucunda, sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının matematiksel problem çözmeye yönelik inançlarının orta seviyede, problem kurma özyeterlik inançlarının ise yüksek seviyede olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Aynı zamanda, sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının matematiksel problem çözmeye yönelik inançları ile problem kurma özyeterlik inançları arasında orta düzeyde, pozitif yönlü ve anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları, öğretmeni adayları için üniversite eğitiminde problem çözme inanç ve problem kurma özyeterlik inançlarını olumlu yönde gelişmesini sağlayacak etkinliklere yer verilmesinin olumlu etkileyebileceğine işaret etmektedir.
