UA and OA have significant anti-tumor activity. The effect of UA is stronger than that of OA. The possible mechanism of action is that both drugs have an inhibitory effect on tumor cell proliferation through cell-cycle arrest.
The medicinal mushroom Trametes versicolor has been well recognized for its activity in maintaining the general health of the population and in managing and treating human diseases in various cultures. Its use has been recently gaining acceptance and popularity in Western countries. The reported health benefits of T. versicolor led to a search for the identity of its bioactive ingredients. These efforts have resulted in the isolation of the polysaccharopeptide PSP from cultured mycelia of strain Cov-1, which expresses large amounts of PSP. The availability of highly purified PSP was followed by studies of its biological activities using tissue culture models and limited human clinical trials. In this review we summarize recent advances in the antitumorigenic and immunomodulatory effects of PSP, elimination of prostate cancer stem cells and control of the intestinal microbiome, and its interplay with host cells as a prebiotic. These findings may have implications for widening and repurposing the use of PSP.
This paper explores the teaching method reform of professional basic theory courses in universities. A series of reforms have been carried out on basic theoretical courses, such as information and communication professional basic theory course "Signals and Systems". The reform contents include making full use of multi-media teaching methods, visualizing teaching contents, rationally arranging classes, paying attention to the repetition of lectures, cultivating application abilities, and focusing on the practical application of the theory. Finally, the continuity of curriculums should be emphasized. After implementation of teaching method reform, teachers' teaching quality in class was improved, students' interest in learning was strong, teacher-student interaction was promoted and better teaching effects were achieved. This teaching mode can be promoted in the same professional basic theory courses.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
