This paper analyzes the interaction between interpersonal trust (as informal rules and behavior) and trust in banks (as formal rules and institutions) as well as institutional sources of trust. Structural equation modeling and cluster analysis were applied to data from the World Values Survey extracted from the Wave 6 (2010-2014). The results of cross-sectional estimations show complementary view on interaction-a positive link between interpersonal trust and trust in banks. Using cluster method, strong impact of institutional environment (GDP per capita, Education Index, Inequality Index, Rule of Law Index) on the level of interaction has been found. The lowest level of linkages between interpersonal trust and trust in banks is associated with the worst institutional environment, the highest level of impact-with the best institutional environment.

The article is devoted to the analysis of tendencies and research of approaches to the definition of strategic management of the bank in the scientific literature, to the identification of future perspective directions of research of this problem. VOSviewer software was used for bibliometric analysis, the object of the study was 5901 articles in scientific journals indexed by Scopus and Web of Science scientific databases, the study period was the time interval from 1991 to 2019. The article substantiates that in 2007-2009 the focus of the study has shifted from general strategic management issues to risk management issues of the bank’s business strategy. In 2019, the number of papers devoted to strategic bank management increased rapidly – by 343% compared to 2007. The use of the VOSviewer tool revealed 5 clusters of the relationship between strategic bank management theory and other theories based on scientific concepts. The largest research cluster combines the expertise of researchers who study strategic bank management in close connection with concepts that study the bank’s business models, business strategy, competition, banking performance, banking services, and more. The second-largest cluster brought together scholars who study the theory of strategic bank management at the intersection with the theories of strategic planning, finance, commerce, e-commerce, management, information management, planning, investing, technological development, and more. The third-largest cluster brings together scholars who consider strategic bank management through the lens of corporate governance, corporate strategy, financial market trends, retail banking, bank profitability, and more. The conducted research leads to the conclusion that business strategy, profitability, and strategic risk management are the priority components of banking strategic management. EVALUATION OF DEPOSIT MARKET COMPETITION: BASIS FOR BANK MARKETING IMPROVEMENT Business strategy and market communication of financial intermediaries, including banks require a transformation under the significant impact of the innovation's development and a highly competitive landscape. The article considers bank marketing improvement through evaluation of deposit market competition. Key trends of the deposit market by Ukrainian case were analysed by authors. More than 60% of the total deposit portfolio of Ukraine is concentrated in 5 largest banks making market highly concentrated. Comparative matrix of the existing approaches and models for assessing the level of competition in the banking market was presented in the paper. Using nonstructural Panzar-Rosse model (by calculating the H-statistics as an indicator of the level of competition on the market) and input quarterly data on the bank's financial performance in Ukraine for the period 01.01.2005-01.04.2016, four main factors for bank competition level on the deposit market were identified. They include the rate of bank liquidity; factor describing the effectiveness of bank funding strategy; a factor assessing the availability of the bank's reserve funds and a factor that combines all the key indicators of the country's banking system stability (the ratio of equity capital to total assets, the ratio of the volume of customers' deposits to total assets, the ratio of total unpaid assets to assets, the ratio of total administrative expenses of the bank to its assets). Evaluation results point out on the monopolistic competition with frequent deviations towards absolute monopoly or oligopoly on the deposit market of Ukraine. This trend is consistent with the characteristic of the European Union indicating a further reforming of the banking sector in this segment (for example, full implementation of Basel II, Basel III). Suggested and empirically tested approach for evaluation of deposit market competition could expand tools of bank marketing strategies.

The aim of the work is a thorough consideration and analysis of the world practice of restoring confidence in financial markets after the crisis of [2008][2009], identification of the features of implementing anti-crisis measures aimed at restoring confidence in banks, in particular, central banks and the financial sector as a whole. The global financial and economic crisis has affected the development of the banking systems and the economies of many developed countries. The central banks of different countries had to adequately respond to threats of globalization processes. They tried to solve the existing problems as quickly as possible by implementing the anti-recessionary policy, in particular, aimed at restoring confidence in the financial sector of the country. Confidence in the banking system is a key element in the growth and development of the financial system and the economy of an individual country as a whole. In the research literature, the issue of the global financial and economic crisis is highlighted in a number of publications, which present a detailed consideration of the essence of the crisis, its consequences and also indicate certain directions for overcoming it.
