Hierarchical structures of graphene@Fe3O4@SiO2@NiO nanosheets were prepared by combining the versatile sol-gel process with a hydrothermal reaction. Graphene@Fe3O4 composites were first synthesized by the reduction reaction between FeCl3 and diethylene glycol (DEG) in the presence of GO. Then, graphene@Fe3O4 was coated with SiO2 to obtain graphene@Fe3O4@SiO2. Finally, NiO nanosheets were grown perpendicularly on the surface of graphene@Fe3O4@SiO2 and graphene@Fe3O4@SiO2@NiO nanosheet hierarchical structures were formed. Moreover, the microwave absorption properties of both graphene@Fe3O4 and graphene@Fe3O4@SiO2@NiO nanosheets were investigated between 2 and 18 GHz microwave frequency bands. The electromagnetic data demonstrate that graphene@Fe3O4@SiO2@NiO nanosheet hierarchical structures exhibit significantly enhanced microwave absorption properties compared with graphene@Fe3O4, which probably originate from the unique hierarchical structure with a large surface area and high porosity.

A session-based recommender system (SBRS) suggests the next item by modeling the dependencies between items in a session. Most of existing SBRSs assume the items inside a session are associated with one (implicit) purpose. However, this may not always be true in reality, and a session may often consist of multiple subsets of items for different purposes (e.g., breakfast and decoration). Specifically, items (e.g., bread and milk) in a subsethave strong purpose-specific dependencies whereas items (e.g., bread and vase) from different subsets have much weaker or even no dependencies due to the difference of purposes. Therefore, we propose a mixture-channel model to accommodate the multi-purpose item subsets for more precisely representing a session. Filling gaps in existing SBRSs, this model recommends more diverse items to satisfy different purposes. Accordingly, we design effective mixture-channel purpose routing networks (MCPRN) with a purpose routing network to detect the purposes of each item and assign it into the corresponding channels. Moreover, a purpose specific recurrent network is devised to model the dependencies between items within each channel for a specific purpose. The experimental results show the superiority of MCPRN over the state-of-the-art methods in terms of both recommendation accuracy and diversity.

A graphene‐supported Ce–SnS2 (Ce–SnS2/graphene) nanocomposite has been synthesized via a hydrothermal route. Structure, morphology, and electrochemical properties of the composites were studied by means of XRD, SEM, TEM, Raman, XPS, TGA, and electrochemical measurements. The Ce–SnS2 crystal particles with a flower‐like structure were distributed on the graphene sheets (GNS). The particle sizes of each petal are in the range 50–100 nm with clear lattice fringes. The atomic ratio of Sn, S, Ce, C, and O is estimated to be 1:2:0.05:3.11:0.64 and the content of Ce–SnS2 composite is 80 wt.% in the as‐synthesized sample. The Ce–SnS2/graphene composite exhibits high initial discharge capacity (1638.3 mAh/g at 0.5 C), high capacity retention (707 mAh/g at 0.5 C after 50 cycles), and good rate capability due to the synergy effect between Ce–SnS2 nanoparticles and graphene nanosheets. The superior performance is ascribed to the presence of graphene keeping the structure stable.

The successful crystallization of proteins is important because their molecular three-dimensional structures can be obtained through X-ray diffraction when in their crystalline form. Investigation of the crystallization process is beneficial for this purpose. We have reported that protein crystallization is sensitive to audible sound, which is commonly present but is often ignored. Here we investigate the effect of audible sound parameters, especially frequency, on a protein crystallization. We show a significant facilitation of protein crystallization using 5000 Hz audible sound, possible mechanism was also tried to be clarified. Suitably controlled audible sound can be beneficial for promoting protein crystallization. Therefore, audible sound can be used as a simple tool to promote protein crystallization. In addition, the processing of other types of materials may also be affected by audible sound.
