Objective: To investigate the effect of electro-acupuncture therapy on limb spasm and excitability of motor neurons in stroke rats. Methods: Ischemic stroke model was induced with middle cerebral artery embolization in SD rats. Thirty-three modeled rats were randomly divided into model group, electro-acupuncture group, and baclofen group with 11 rats in each group, and another 10 rats were taken as sham operation group.The electro-acupuncture group and the baclofen group were treated with electroacupuncture and baclofen tablets respectively. The model group and the sham operation group had no intervention. The neural function was evaluated with Bederson's scale and balance beam test; the muscle tension was measured with electrophysiography; the pathological changes of brain tissue was examined with HE staining; the content of glutamic acid (Glu) and γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in rat cerebral cortex was analyze with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method, the expression of metabotropic glutamate receptor 1a (Grm1a) and γ-aminobutyric acid type B receptor subunit 1 (Gabbr1) mRNA were detected with RT-qPCR. Results: Compared with the model group, the neurological function scores of the electro-acupuncture group and the baclofen group showed a downward trend at d7 after operation (all P>0.05), and the neurological function scores of the electro-acupuncture group and the baclofen group were significantly decreased at d12 after the operation (all P<0.05). Compared with sham operation group, the electrophysiological results of model group, electro-acupuncture group and baclofen group were significantly lower (all P<0.05), and there was no statistical difference in the electrophysiological results of the model group, electro-acupuncture group and baclofen group at d7 after operation (all P>0.05). Compared with the model group, the electrophysiological results of the electro-acupuncture group and baclofen group were significantly increased 12 d after operation (all P<0.05). The results of HE staining showed that there was no cell edema and degeneration in the sham operation group, no pyknosis of the nucleus, and no bleeding in the interstitium. Cell edema and degeneration and mesenchymal congestion appeared in the model group. Compared with the model group, the cytoplasmic edema and degeneration and the interstitial bleeding in the electroacupuncture group and the baclofen group were reduced. Compared with sham operation group, the Glu content and the relative expression of Grm1a mRNA was increased in the model group, electro-acupuncture group and baclofen group, while the GABA content and the relative expression of Gabbr1 mRNA decreased (all P<0.05).
Objective. To observe the effects of different manual acupuncture (MA) manipulation on gastric electrical amplitude and frequency for noradrenaline-induced bradygastria in rabbits. Methods. A total of 60 rabbits were randomly allocated into six groups: four MA manipulation groups; reinforcing by twisting the manipulation group (FTG), reducing by twisting the manipulation group (RTG), reinforcing by lifting and thrusting the manipulation group (FLG), and reducing by lifting and thrusting the manipulation group (RLG), a control group (CG), and a model group (MG). e total treatment time length was 45 minutes. e bradygastria was induced via administration of noradrenaline via the marginal ear vein of the rabbits at 5 minutes from baseline, and the bradygastria model was established at 12 minutes from baseline. e rabbits in the four MA manipulation groups received different stimulation parameters at ST36 (Zusanli) for a duration of 3 minutes in accordance with their respective group allocation. e needles were then retained without further manipulation for a further 25 minutes. Gastric electrical amplitude and frequency were recorded using a data acquisition system (Biopac System MP150) at five different time points: baseline (for a duration of 5 minutes), after the bradygastria model was established at 12 minutes from baseline (for a duration of 5 minutes), during MA manipulation commencing at 17 minutes from baseline (for a duration of 3 minutes), 5 minutes after MA manipulation at 25 minutes from baseline (for a duration of 5 minutes), and at 20 minutes following MA manipulation at 40 minutes from baseline (for a duration of 5 minutes). Results. After noradrenaline induction, gastric electrical frequency levels in MA and MG groups were significantly decreased compared to the CG group (P < 0.05). However, there were no significant changes to gastric electrical amplitude (P > 0.05). During MA manipulation, gastric electrical frequency levels in RTG, FLG, and RLG groups were higher than in the MG group (P < 0.05). At 5 minutes after MA manipulation, gastric electrical frequency levels in RTG and FLG groups were higher than in the MG group (P < 0.05), and gastric electrical frequency level in the RTG group was higher than in the CG group (P < 0.05). At 20 minutes after MA manipulation, gastric electrical frequency levels in FTG, RTG, and FLG groups were higher than in the MG group (P < 0.05). Conclusion. All four variations of MA manipulations have a recovery effect on the gastric electrical frequency of rabbits with bradygastria. In particular, results indicated that FTG, RTG, and FLG at ST36 may have a regular and significant recovery trend through the whole process of the acupuncture intervention.Hindawi Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine Volume 2020, Article ID 9357120, 9 pages https://doi.
The object of this work was to determine the solubility and stability of the synthetic Sr5(AsO4)3OH solid solution at 25°C and the different initial pHs (pH at 2, 6 and 9) by batch dissolution experiments. The results indicated that with the initial pH value of 2, 6 and 9, the reaction system reached equilibrium after 2880h, and by that time the pH value of the solution reached, 7.90, 8.74 and 8.27 respectively. The concentration of strontium and arsenic in the initial solution pH at 2 are higher than that of solutions pH at 6 and 9. While the concentration of strontium in neutral or alkaline solutions is low and stays unchanged.
