A new polymer of epichlorohydrin-ethylenediamine was obtained by suspension polycondensation of ethylenediamine with epichlorohydrin. The color removal performance and mechanism of the polymer in the treatment of synthetic reactive dyes wastewater was investigated, and in comparison with polymeric aluminum ferric chloride (PAFC) and polydimethyldiallylammonium chloride (PDMDAAC). The results showed that epichlorohydrin-ethylenediamine achieved higher color removal efficiency, and its adsorption-bridging and electric neutralization ability playedimportant roles in the flocculation process.
Six water samples from different Yellow River reservoirs in Shandong were selected. The molecular weight distribution and type of organic matter were determined by using ultrafiltration, adsorption experiments and active bio-sand determination methods. The results show that the proportions of TOC and UV254Subscript text in different molecular weight intervals and the type of organic matter are different. But the proportion of adsorbable dissolved organic matter is the largest, which is more than 80%.In addition, the proportion of biodegradable organic matter (BDOC) is little, so the biodegradability of the raw water is not high.
The performance of the municipal wastewater treatment using the Biological Aerated Filter (BAF) was investigated. The optimal operation parameters such as air/water ratio, water temperature, filtration velocity were achieved, and the removal efficiencies of CODCr, NH3 and SS were 80%, 98%, and 95%, respectively at the optimal conditions. The effluent can meet the integrated wastewater discharge standard in China.
The performance of Short-HRT suspended medium bioreactor was investigated to treat the municipal effluent from the chemical-biological flocculation plant. The results showed that under the condition of influent ammonia concentration 9.0-15.0 mg/L, carrier filling ratio 30%, optimal air/water ratio and optimal HRT were 2.0 h and 2.7 h, respectively. The removal efficiency of ammonia is 49.7% with ammonia volume load of 0.058 kg/m3•d. Molecular biological method analysis indicated that bacteria species were abundant and could adapt themselves to varied circumstance in the Short-HRT suspended medium bioreactor.
The effluent from biochemical treatment of pulp and paper making wastewater treated by heterogeneous Fenton fluid-bed reactor was evaluated. The results showed that in the condition of COD 350mg/L, and the optimum conditions of pH at 3, FeSO4 2.5mmol/L, H2O2 3.4mmol/L, and reaction time at 20 minutes, the removal efficiencies of COD and color are more than 85% and 90%, respectively. The best drug dosing ratio of heterogeneous Fenton fluid-bed reactor has positive relations with COD of raw water, and the mole ratio of COD, FeSO4, and H2O2 is 6.4:0.74:1.
