The glycemic index (GI) of Kodo incorporated (60%) Idli and Sewai upma and their correspondingcontrol products were determined in ten normal subjects. Using a randomized crossover design the reference and test foods were fed in random order on separate occasions after an overnight fast. Capillary blood samples were collected through finger-prick and analyzed for glucose level by using automatic analyzer at 0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 Idli (58.53 (SEM 1.48)) and Sewai upma (65.49 (SEM 1.01)) was considerably lower than the control Idli (67.11 (SEM 3.25)) and Sewai upma (69.49 (SEM 1.01)
