This paper presents a simulation method with ANSYS Maxwell suited to study threedimensional electrostatic weighting field in a Multi-gap Resistive Plate Chamber (MRPC). The variation of the three-dimensional weighting field with the change in the MRPC design parameters has been studied in detail, which will help us better understand the chamber response. Finally, we shall achieve more real simulation of the chamber signal by introducing the 3D weighting field results into our standalone simulation framework. Signals induced on strip electrodes and simulation results of time resolution and position resolution have been discussed and compared with experimental test.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
