O Brasil tem um alto potencial de irradiação solar em sua extensão e sistemas fotovoltaicos isolados da rede estão sendo instalados no país desde o início dos anos 90. Nos primeiros anos, não houve padronização que determinasse níveis mínimos de eficiência em sistemas instalados. Tendo em vista o aumento da geração distribuída por meio de instalações fotovoltaicas nos últimos anos, este artigo busca analisar o atual padrão de validação exigido pelos órgãos governamentais normativos brasileiros com as especificações técnicas do fabricantes que participam do mercado brasileiro de energia fotovoltaica. Este trabalho inclui a análise de degradação de módulos fotovoltaicos a partir de dados coletados em uma instalação na cidade do Rio de Janeiro a fim de fazer uma avaliação qualitativa dos módulos solares instalados no Brasil, e propõe recomendações para minimizar perdas em sistemas fotovoltaicos de geração de energia. O sistema fotovoltaico analisado apresentou desempenho de acordo com o declarado pelo fabricante.
