This goal of this paper is to provide a framework by which China should accelerate the development and production of new energy vehicles, which should effectively address current energy and environmental pressures, while promoting the sustainable development of the automotive industry, which is an urgent task. In addition, this paper provides guidelines that seek to transform China's auto industry while developing a new economic growth point to gain an international competitive advantage with strategic initiatives. This study aims to provide an ANP-SWOT (Analytic Network Process and Strength-Weakness-Opportunity-Threat analysis) approach for an interdependency analysis and to prioritize the new energy automobile industry in China. Firstly, a SWOT model is used to analyze the internal and external factors surrounding the development of the new energy automobile industry in China. Secondly, four types of development strategies are proposed by means of the SWOT matrix according to the conclusions of the factor analysis. Finally, the ANP network structure is designed to measure the effects of influential sub-factors, and then to define a strategic plan for China's new energy automobile industry. The results of this study show that the optimal short-term development strategy for China's new energy automotive industry is to increase the construction of new energy vehicle-related facilities, while the best long-term development strategy is to use local advantages and resources, through cost control measures which increase competition within the local new energy automotive industry.
PurposeThe aim of this paper is to examine how the co‐evolution of two order systems‐guanxi networks and legal system, i.e. a dual order system‐has shaped the growth of China's SMEs. From an institutional perspective, one proposition suggested has been that building guanxi networks can facilitate the growth of China's SMEs when institutions change in unpredictable ways. Another proposition claims legal institutions become guarantors of the growth of China's SMEs as a result of competition in increasingly market‐oriented environment.Design/methodology/approachOver a nine‐year period (1998‐2006), this study conducts in‐depth interviews with 18 top managers of three Chinese SMEs in Wenzhou, a city located in south of China. To identify potential research subjects, SMEs that had been operating for a period of at least five years and privately‐owned were chosen. Since institution evolution is characterized with a longitudinal nature, the authors gathered data from three different time periods in order to capture the richness of the phenomenon.FindingsDual order mechanisms consisting of guanxi networks (informal institutions) and codified laws (formal institutions) are both relevant in the growth of SMEs: guanxi networks are more significant at earlier stages of growth whereas legal systems are more influential in later stages. This argument is supported with data collected from three longitudinal case studies of SMEs in China.Research limitations/implicationsData were obtained from three companies in Wenzhou of China, thus findings might not be generalizable across the country.Originality/valueThree longitudinal case studies are unique. According to Pettigrew, longitudinal methods may be the only way to uncover processes of institutional change. The paper investigates the role of dual order system consisting of guanxi and legal systems in the growth of China's SMEs. The research not only contributes to the guanxi literature but also enables managers and investors to better understand the guanxi practice and role of legal systems in the growth of SMEs.
E-commerce changed the habits of the customers in recent 10 years. Analyzing the changes in customer's demand and the characteristics of e-commerce in China more and more companies commit to the war online. Making scientific quantitative analysis on the factors to each other, the quantitative index system provides a broad prospect for development. What's more, in order to solve the implementation of China's B2C e-commerce, the problem that is badly in need of solving in more fierce market competition currently. Based on the expert evaluation, this paper puts forward the critical factors in China's B2C e-commerce system, using numerical method to construct ISM, so that the CSFs can be got,namely it will be easier for the decision makers to catch the important points during the process.At last the instance of Jingdogn can be the perfect model for the strategies and the CSFs in practice.
The preservation of fresh food is difficult, so the problems of food safety and the waste of it are very serious. The development of Fresh food online supermarkets will contribute to solve the problem. On the basis of describing the concept, scope and development status of fresh food, the development advantage and disadvantage of fresh food online supermarket is analyzed by SWOT method, future development analysis of the fresh food online supermarkets is been done. Predictive analysis of the future development of the fresh food online supermarkets mainly includes the spread of the fresh food online supermarkets, price transparency, food quality changes, fresh food cold chain logistics improvement and goods consumption evaluation. The relevant suggestions could promote the rapid and healthy development of the fresh food online supermarkets.
