An electrochemical oxidative CÀ H sulfonylation of anilines without a metal catalyst and an external oxidant has been developed. Various sodium sulfinates are compatible, generating the desired products in up to 96% yield. Preliminary mechanism studies suggest that a radical crosscoupling process is involved in this transformation.

Cu(phen)(OAc) 2 ] 2 (μ-H 2 O) (phen =1,10-phenanthroline) was characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer and Thermogravimetric analysis, and its catalytic performances were investigated in the oxidative carbonylation of methanol to dimethyl carbonate. The results showed that [Cu(phen)(OAc) 2 ] 2 (μ-H 2 O) exhibited high thermal stability and catalytic properties. Turnover number of dimethyl carbonate could reach to 33.0 mol DMC •mol Cu-1 under the conditions of reaction temperature of 120˚C, total pressure of 4.0 MPa, ratio of partial pressure of CO to O 2 of 19 : 1 (below the explosion limit of CO) and concentration of catalyst in methanol of 0.014mol •L-1. When the complex was reused, the loss of CH 3 COOresulted in the break of its bridge coordination, and the catalytic activity was lowered.
