The world is facing a severe crisis of fresh water shortage. Seawater desalination technology is the ideal answer to this crisis. However, the conventional technologies consume too much energy, which greatly restrict their popularization. A method for saltwater desalination is proposed based on high-voltage static electric field eliminating the dissolved ions in saltwater. The desalination function is realized by static high-voltage electric field exerting electric force on the ions in the salt solution to strongly separate the ions of the contrary sign. Three factors were simulated to reveal their effects on the ion distribution or the separation efficiency, including salt concentration, electric field intensity and width of water pipeline. Results shows that the above three factors greatly affect the ion distribution characteristics in the water pipeline. This method is helpful in energy saving for seawater desalination.
As one of the most important equipments in the power system, partial discharge (PD) affects the transformer’s properties in a long-term period and the partial discharge pattern recognition has most important sense. In the paper,3 kinds of experimental models simulating discharges were designed and model experiments were performed. Based on this, a transformer partial discharge pattern recognition system based on information fusion technology is developed. the finally experiments show that: information fusion have enough ability to recognize different types of partial discharge.
In the perspective of realizing the on-line monitoring of power cable insulation, to analyze the changes of the traveling wave when the cable fault, thus we can found the power cable failures in advance and deal with it timely in order to make sure the safety and stability of power cables. Owing to high reliability, small size, strong anti-interference ability and application to cruel industrial environments of PLC, on-line monitoring system based on PLC has good resistance to interference of electric and magnetic and good stability.
The cross-linked polyethylene cable is largely used in power-supply system of the city. As the length of the power cable is concerned with the technology and construction, the center joint is largely employed, and the fault of the power cable is often found in the center joint. The discharge light has been seen on the face of the XPLE-SIR in work. The carbonization granule which appears after the discharge is the primary cause of the insulation degradation. A sample is designed, and the alternate electric-field rise on it to imitate the operational aspect. This paper analyses the relation of the discharge light, discharge current and carbonization granule. We find that it is feasible according to study the interface discharge light to deduce the characteristic of discharge and carbonization granule, and judge the degree of the interface insulation degradation.
