Objetivo: Analizar las manifestaciones orales de la infección por covid-19. Método: Se realizó una revisión en PubMed y Scielo. Resultados: Fueron seleccionados 15 artículos después de la eliminación de literatura incompleta y artículos de opinión. Conclusión: En la práctica odontológica el peligro de contagiarse de SARS-CoV-2 es muy alto, debido a la proximidad con la cavidad bucal y la nariz del paciente. Las principales manifestaciones en cavidad oral asociadas a COVID-19 son: alteraciones AG y AO, trastornos de las glándulas salivales, infecciones oportunistas, lesiones vesiculares y vasculares, entre otras. Según la revisión de varios artículos, señalan que los tejidos orales son susceptibles principalmente en el tracto respiratorio, mucosa oral, lengua y glándulas salivales.
Objetivo: Determinar el criterio profesional en cuanto a la aplicación y el manejo de equipos de rayos x portátiles en la práctica odontológica, además del nivel de conocimiento de los egresados de la carrera de odontología de la Universidad Uniandes. Método: Descriptiva observacional. Resultados: El 80% de los encuestados, desconocen la cantidad de radiación ionizante que emiten los equipos de rayos x portátiles y solo el 20% tienen conocimiento al respecto; esto puede deberse a que como la gran mayoria de ellos no adquirieron los permisos correspondientes pasaron ese dato por alto. Conclusión: Los egresados poseen un inadecuado nivel de conocimiento sobre el manejo, permisos de funcionamiento y características de los equipos de rayos x portátiles que actualmente se encuentran en auge en las consultas odontológicas.
