Adsorption isotherms of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (R1234yf) on two kinds of activated carbon (PA-01 and NS-01) have been measured using the volumetric method. The adsorption equilibrium temperature is in the range of 273−353 K with an interval of 20 K. The pressure range is up to about 0.5 MPa. Specific surface areas of activated carbon PA-01 and NS-01 are 967.5 m 2 •g −1 and 928.3 m 2 •g −1 , respectively. The Langmuir−Freundlich equation and the Dubinin−Astakhov equation have been adopted to correlate the experimental data. Both models could describe the adsorption equilibria satisfactorily in the study range. The saturation amounts of adsorption on activated carbons PA-01 and NS-01 at 293 K are 5.1526 mmol/g and 4.9057 mmol/g, respectively. The isosteric enthalpy has been also analyzed. It demonstrates that the adsorption of R1234yf should be mainly based on physical interaction.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
