This paper presents a novel design of a real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) missile TV guidance system simulation platform, which consists of a development computer, a target computer, a turntable, a control cabin, and a joystick. The guidance system simulation model is created on the development computer by Simulink® and then downloaded to the target computer. Afterwards, Simulink Real-Time™ runs the model in real-time. Meanwhile, the target computer uploads the real-time simulation data back to the development computer. The hardware in the simulation loop is TV camera, encoders, control cabin, servomotors, and target simulator. In terms of hardware and software, the system has been simplified compared with the existing works. The volume of the turntable integrating the target simulator and the seeker simulator is about 0.036 cubic meters compared to the original 8 cubic meters, so it has a compact structure. The platform can perform the closed-loop control, so the simulation has high precision. Taking the TV guidance simulation as an example, in the case of target maneuvering, the final miss distance of the TV guidance missile is 0.11812 m, while the miss distance of the original system is 13 m. The trajectories obtained from the HIL and mathematical simulations substantially coincide. So the simulation results show that the proposed HIL simulation platform is effective.

Water-powered jetpacks have become a well-known recreational product in water theme parks. It requires a large number of skills to operate them. And it is difficult for visitors, particularly for kids and elders, to master these skills in a limited period of time. This paper designed several unmanned waterpowered aerial vehicles (UWAVs) to deal with this dilemma. Two types of actuating mechanism are proposed, each of which is applied in different UWAVs. The dynamics of the two types of UWAV is modeled and analyzed. Several UWAV prototypes, including airframes, actuators, controllers with PD algorithm, and inertial sensors, are fabricated. Under the control of the onboard controllers, the prototypes can achieve attitude stabilization. One can use a remote control to drive a prototype to perform specific tasks. The experimental results are provided, and the experimental mission demonstrations show that the UWAVs could be used in recreation as well as other fields, such as fire extinguishing, salvage, fast transportation on water, and underwater detection.

With the rapid development of modern aviation industry, dual-property turbine disc with fine comprehensive performance plays an important role in raising the thrust-to-weight ratio of the aero-engine. For manufacturing dual-property turbine disc, the powder metallurgy superalloy (PM) with excellent creep resistance was chosen as rim material, and the wrought superalloy with fine equiaxed grains was chosen as bore material. Electron beam welding was carried out on the PM/wrought dual superalloys. Hot compression tests were conducted on the PM/Wrought dual superalloys at temperatures of 1020–1140 °C and strain rates of 0.001–1.0 s−1. Deformation behavior and microstructure evolution have been investigated to study the deformation and recrystallization mechanism during hot deformation process. The results showed that PM/Wrought dual superalloy presents the similar flow behavior to single alloys and flow stress decreases significantly with the increase of deformation temperature or the decrease of strain rate. The apparent activation energy of deformation at the strain of 0.2 was determined as being 780.07 kJ·mol−1. The constitutive equation was constructed for modeling the hot deformation of PM/Wrought dual superalloy. Meanwhile, the processing map approach was further adopted to optimize the manufacturing process for the dual-property turbine disc. Additionally, a new instability criterion was proposed: the “cliff” and “valley” in the power dissipation map are determined as sufficient conditions for flow instability. The optimum processing parameter for manufacturing the PM/Wrought dual-property turbine disc can be obtained to enhance the mechanical properties, based on the analysis of processing map technology and microstructural mechanism.
