Toxicity is one of the major reasons for failure in drug development. Zebrafish, as an ideal vertebrate model, could also be used to evaluate drug toxicity. In this study, we aimed to show the predictability and highlight novel findings of toxicity in zebrafish model. Seven anticancer compounds, including triptolide (TP), gambogic acid (GA), mycophenolic acid (MPA), curcumin, auranofin, thalidomide, and taxol, were assessed in zebrafish for their toxicity. Three compounds (GA, TP, and taxol) showed highest acute lethality, with 50% lethal concentration ≈ 1 μmol/L. Missing tails, severe pericardial edema, and enlarged yolk sacs were observed in MPA-treated embryos. The development of pectoral fins was severely disturbed in thalidomide-, GA-, and TP-treated embryos. Bradycardia was observed in MPA- and thalidomide-treated groups. Our findings suggested that the zebrafish are a good model for toxicity assessment of anticancer compounds.
CuInS2 thin films were deposited on galss substrate by successive ionic layer absorption and reaction (SILAR) method at room temperature. CuCl2, InCl3, and Na2S were used as precursor materials. The thin films were obtained during the dipping of 20-40 cycles and after annealing in the N2 atmosphere at 500°C. The characterization of the film was carried out by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, optical absorption spectrum and X-ray photoelectron spectra. Quantification of the XPS peaks shows that the molar ratio of Cu:In:S of the film is close to the stoichiometry of CuInS2. XRD result demonstrated that the formed compound is CuInS2 with chalcopyrites crystal structure. Direct band gap was found to be 1.5eV from optical absorption spectrum.
Based on the particularity of the fouling in the sewage heat exchanger, this paper proposed a new heat exchanger with on-line draw-ring removing fouling technology, focused on the structure and principle of this heat exchanger, designed and manufactured the experimental prototype. After the experiment on this prototype with the scraper-ring mechanism or not for one month, the experimental results show that this heat exchanger has a very perfect removing fouling effect. That will provide a new concept for the broaden use of sewage heat exchanger.
In this paper, with the combination of powder metallurgy and hot pressing method, the nano-graphite Al-Mg composite material was made. This method succeeds in solving the difficulty that graphite particle directly melted with Al-Mg melt, which investigates the amount of nano-graphite’s impact on the abrasion resistance of Al-Mg composite material. The result shows that nano-graphite particle easily to scattered in the matrix when the nano-graphite particle amounts to 1﹪ which can decrease the friction coefficient of composite material. But the material of wear extent increases accordingly along with the increase of the content of nano-graphite.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
