Scientific supporting design is of great significance to ensure coal roadway stability. The three-step supporting design method is put forward for coal roadway support: The first step is preliminary design, determine the range of each supporting parameter according to the theoretical calculation and supporting experiences; the second step is numerical simulation calculation, choose the reasonable one through the comparison of schemes; the third step is field monitoring, verify the scheme applicability. After applying the three-step supporting design method to study 3# coal seam roadway in Guandi mine, the optimal supporting scheme is obtained, and good results of underground roadway are achieved, which ensure the stability of roadway surrounding rock. Meanwhile, some rules are summarized which provide references for future roadway supporting design.
Stability classification of roadway surrounding rock is of great significance as the prerequisite of safe production in roadway engineering. Based on a great number of issues analysis, the research status of roadway surrounding rock stability classification has been dissected from aspects of classification indexes and methods. At the end, it has put forward that choosing scientific and reasonable indexes, applying combined technology with more than three methods, using new technology and new methods are the three development trends of roadway surrounding rock stability classification research.
With development of coal mining technology and equipment, the coal roadway section size increases gradually, making roadway more difficult to support. In the paper, the supporting of large cross-section roadway in Hedong mine is studied and roadway excavation supporting process is simulated by FLAC3D. Coal roadway deformation and the problem of original supporting scheme are analyzed including displacement field, stress filed and plastic zone. Several supporting optimizations are proposed combined with site investigation and simulation analysis. And the optimizations are simulated and calculated. By comprehensive comparison, the optimal supporting scheme is obtained and some supporting law in large cross-section roadway is concluded. These are helpful for supporting design in future.
