El presente proyecto de investigación cuantificó la cantidad de energía que un sistema fotovoltaico conectado a la red, puede suministrar al bloque B de la Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi, con el propósito de disminuir la facturación del servicio eléctrico. En el proyecto se recolectó la radiación global por el periodo de un año, datos que ayudaron a determinar el potencial solar de la institución. La mayor irradiación promedio presentada fue en noviembre con un valor de 5,4 kW∙h/(m2∙día) e irradiancia media máxima de 931 W/m2 a la 1:00 pm. La demanda semanal del bloque académico B fue estimada con el Analizador Fluke 435 series II, mismo que registró una potencia promedio máxima de 35,11 kW el día miércoles a las 18:00 h. Además, a la 1:00 pm del jueves donde se encontró la mayor irradiancia, midió un valor medio de 29,88 kW. El generador fotovoltaico cuenta con 66 paneles solares, cuya capacidad instalada es de 26,4 kW dividida en dos grupos: 14,4 kW y 12 kW, respectivamente ubicados sobre la azotea del edificio en un área libre de 573,47 m2. De esta manera, el sistema podría entregar anualmente 30336 kW∙h a la institución, a la vez; evitar la emisión de 18,42 toneladas de CO2 al año. Finalmente, en el estudio financiero del proyecto con una inversión de 83.290,88 USD, se consideró tres escenarios; el segundo la mejor opción, cuando el precio de la energía eléctrica es de 0,6812 USD/kW∙h. Esto implica tener un ingreso anual de 21.078,37 USD, un valor actual neto de 116.363,42 USD, tasa interna de retorno del 24,07% y relación beneficio/costo de 2,28.
La presente investigación trata la simulación de los sistemas de apantallamiento y puesta a tierra en una central de generación distribuida, debido a que en la misma se han suscitado fallas ocasionando daños en los equipos de protección, a su vez se ha considerado una futura expansión. Para lo cual se realizó mediciones de resistividad del suelo y resistencia de puesta a tierra mediante el Std. IEEE 81, obteniéndose valores de hasta 40,4 Ω-m y 986 Ω respectivamente a lo largo del terreno y los puntos comunes de tierra. Posteriormente se modeló los sistemas en ETAP; en condiciones actuales con el valor de resistividad del suelo de 23,57 Ω-m, determinándose una resistencia de 0,588 Ω, y un voltaje de toque de 854,4 V, el cual excede los valores tolerables de la normativa, así también acorde al modelamiento de las esferas rodantes para el sistema de apantallamiento actual conformado por un pararrayo tipo dipolo; se determinó que la 3 de los generadores se encuentran fuera de la zona de protección y al efectuarse una expansión este conjunto de protecciones no prestarían las garantías necesarias para el buen funcionamiento de la central. Para lo cual se plantearon mejo- ras al sistema; las cuales se comprobaron mediante simulación; obteniéndose valores de puesta a tierra de 0,414 Ω y voltaje de toque de 589 V los cuales están dentro de los límites permisibles, además de diseñarse la expansión.
La finca “La Cordillera” presentó instalaciones eléctricas con caídas de voltaje, bajo factor de potencia, ausencia de estudios lumínicos e inexistencia del diagrama unifilar. La investigación buscó evaluar la eficiencia de la industria ganadera para mejorar los indicadores de desempeño energético. Primero se identificó el portador más representativo entre la electricidad, GLP o gasolina a través del diagrama de Pareto, seguido del comportamiento del consumo eléctrico durante el período 2018 – 2020, de igual forma la auditoría energética efectuada mediante el analizador de redes, pinza amperimétrica, luxómetro, resaltó el uso ineficiente de la energía eléctrica como lumínica. El sistema de iluminación LED a base de sensores de presencia empleó 15 lámparas, a fin de cumplir los criterios primordiales de la calidad lumínica, economizar anualmente 124,60 kW∙h, además de llegar a valores del VEEI de 1,04 W/(m2∙lx), igualmente; la compensación reactiva fija accionada por contactor permitió incrementar el FP de 0,76 a 0,976, a la vez, disminuyó la cargabilidad del transformador monofásico en 21,66%, así, los IDEn fueron mejorados al obtener resultados de 9.470 kW∙h/año, 0,0517 kW∙h/L, 1.815,435 kg CO2/año. El cambio de tarifa residencial a comercial sin demanda alcanzó el ahorro monetario anual de 220,44 USD. Finalmente, el análisis económico reflejó la rentabilidad del proyecto pues el valor actual neto fue de 51,34 USD, la tasa interna de retorno de 8,38% mayor que el tipo de interés del 7,48% y relación beneficio/costo de 1,04.
En el presente trabajo se realizó el diseño y análisis de un sistema de iluminación exterior mediante tecnología LED, el cual es energizado por medio de generación fotovoltaica concentrada. Considerando que, en el estacionamiento se cuenta con una iluminación media inferior a los niveles permitidos, se propone la mejora del alumbrado a través del software Dialux evo, obteniendo de este diseño los siguientes resultados: 518 lx para el acceso, 132,83 lx en la franja de circulación y 113,75 lx en plazas de estacionamiento, acordes a la normativa NTE INEN 2 248, cuya densidad de potencia eléctrica para alumbrado es de 1,88 W/m2. Mediante una investigación bibliográfica se recopiló los datos técnicos de las luminarias LED de 245 W y 134 W, con un eficiencia luminosa de 145 lm/W y 146 lm/W respectivamente. Además, el sistema fotovoltaico está conformado por 28 paneles monocristalinos de 360 W/24 V, el sistema de acumulación constará de 28 baterías de descarga profunda a 240 Ah/12 V, dos reguladores de carga PWM de 110 A/48 V y el inversor de 5 000 VA/48 V. Con un nuevo valor para el kWh de USD 0,681 2 se logra tener un VAN de $ 66 525,60 y el TIR igual a 25,35 %, indicando que el proyecto resulta rentable.
