A multi-mode optical thermometer was developed using novel nanocomposite glass ceramics, containing bi-functional NaYF4:Yb3+/Nd3+ and NaAlSiO4:Cr3+ nanocrystals.
ZnWO 4 :Eu 3+ Nanorods: A Potential Tunable White Light-Emitting Phosphor. -The title nanorods are hydrothermally synthesized from aqueous solutions of Zn(NO3)2, Eu(NO3)3, and Na2WO4 (autoclave, 180°C, 12 h) and characterized by XRD, TEM, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. They show excellent photoluminescence properties with tunable color from blue through white to orange depending on the doping concentration of Eu 3+ . The nearly ideal white light of ZnWO 4 :0.5% Eu 3+ with color temperature of 5919 K implies potential applications in deep UV LEDs for phosphor converted white light-emitting diodes. -(CHEN, X.
