The characteristics of the phase transition of polycrystalline La0.7Ca0.3MnO3—δ (LCMO) was investigated by using the vibrating reed method. The internal friction (Q—1) of the sample shows two peaks: P1 and P2. The first internal friction peak, P1, appears in heating up and cooling down indicative of a paramagnetic to ferromagnetic phase transition with a considerable resonant frequency drop at the transition point. The second broader internal friction peak, P2, appears only in heating up and its corresponding frequency (f) exibits a maximum. Additionally, the P1 temperature was found to be linked with a thermal absorption peak and a variation of the magnetization and the electric resistance.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
