Continuous‐wave laser (λ = 532 nm) was irradiated on Ag+‐exchanged glass surfaces to precipitate PbS quantum dots (QDs) of various diameters. TEM images combined with element mapping results confirmed the formation and size distribution of PbS QDs. Photoluminescence spectra red‐shifted from 1336 nm to 1635 nm with increases in power density and duration of laser irradiation. Three representative irradiation conditions are proposed to realize broadband photoluminescence from one glass rod to cover the 1.3‐1.7 μm communication window.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
