Wenn aueh die letzten Jahre, im Gegensatze zu fffiheren Zeiten, uns eine gro~e Zahl yon Handbiiehern, Kompendien und Lehrbiichern der Dermatologie gebraeht haben, so ist das nieht ale Ubelstand zu bezeichnen, wenn Forseher und Lehrer des Faehes ihre an reichem Materiale in langer Arbeitszeit gesammelte Ertahrung darbieten, und ihren Standpunkt zu einzelnen Fragen darin niederlegen. Dies gilt in hervorragendem Ma~e yon dem vorliegenden Lehrbuehe der Hautkrankheiten Langs. In gleicher Weise wie in seinen Vorlesungen fiber Pathologic and Therapie der Syphilis tritt uns auch bier die Klarheit, Frisehe und Gewandtheit der Darstellung entgegen, die wir mit Reeht an dem Autor so hoeh seh~tzen. Das Lehrbuch der ttautkrankheiten ist als Erg~inzung zu den oben erw~hnfen Vorlesungen fiber Syphilis gedacht. Ohne sieh an eines der vorhandenen Systeme zu binden oder ein neues aufzustellen gruppiert der Verfasser die Krankheitsbilder naeh klinisehen Gesichtspunkten, lii~t aber dabei doeh die pathologisch a~atomischen Verh~ltnisse immer zu ihrem Rechte kommen, soweit es ffir den Zweck des Buches dienlich erscheint. Hin und wieder freilieh hiitte aueh bier vielteieht etwas mehr gegeben werden kSnnen, ohne daI~ die Darstellung sieh auf das Gebiet der unbewiesenen Hypothesen h{itte zu wagen brauchen. Das gilt besonders yon den Tumorcn der ttaut, die etwas stiefmiitterlieh behandelt slnd. Der Hauptwert ist, dem Charakter des Buehes entspreehend, auf die klinische Beobaehtung und die Therapie gelegt, und beiden wird der Verfasser in hervorragender Weise gereeht. Die Ordinationsforme]n finden sieh am Sehlusse des Buehes im Zusammenhange wiedergegeben. Nach den oft gemachten Erfahrungen seheint es zweekm~Nger dieselben mit in den Text hlneinzunehmen. Die Darstellung der sonst dureh Aufz~hlungen leieht ermfidend wirkenden therapeutisehen Kapitel wird dadureh entschieden friseher und anregender, w~hrend die Ubersieht]iehkeit and die Gebrauehsfi~higkei~ des ganzen Werkes sieh zweifellos dadurch erhSht. Naeh einer kurzen Schilderung der anatomischen und physiologisehen Verhfiltnisse finder die allgemeine Atiologie eine eingehendere Besprechung, wobei aueh auf die Bedeutung der Toxine hingewiesen
