222ChemInform Abstract The first example of a four-coordinate V(II) complex (III), crystallizing in Pn with Z=2, is isolated. Electronic and IR spectra indicate (III) to contain an impurity of less than 3% identified as the V(III) complex V(DIPP)4(Li(THF)). In contrast to the relative stability of W(DIPP)4, (III) displays reactivity toward a variety of substrates: CO, CO2, acetylenes, epoxides, ketones, aldehydes, alcohols (details not given). Toward cyclohexene oxide, (III) behaves as an oxygen acceptor forming cyclohexene along with a dimeric V(IV) complex.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
