This study aims to develop learning tools in the form of lesson plans and worksheets based on Problem Based Learning mathematics on comparative material for seventh grade junior high school students oriented to the ability to understand concepts. The quality of the developed products is assessed based on aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The learning device development procedure refers to the 4-D development model, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Due to the limitations of the researcher, the research was carried out until the develop stage. The subjects of this study were students of class VII ASMP Negeri 2 Dolok Pardamean, totaling 34 people. The results of the research, namely: 1) the resulting learning tools, in the form of: lesson plans, student activity sheets and concept understanding tests have met the criteria; 2) the effectiveness of learning tools is concluded based on the percentage of students who understand the concept of at least moderate is 85.29% of the 34 students who take the test and the achievement of the ideal percentage of time for each category of student and teacher activity. In conclusion, the development of learning tools in the form of lesson plans and worksheets based on Problem Based Learning on comparative materials for grade VII junior high school students proved to be effective and able to improve students' conceptual understanding. This study aims to analyze the ability of self-efficacy using the jigsaw cooperative model, including (1) student self-efficacy after jigsaw cooperative learning and (2) the level of active student activity during the learning process. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were 34 students of X-IPA2 N 1 PAGARAN and the object of this research was the students' self-efficacy abilities and active student activities. The instrument used consisted of a self-efficacy questionnaire, student activity observation sheets, and interview guidelines. Data analysis used the Mile and Huberman model. The results showed that the self-efficacy of 34 students obtained high self-efficacy of 26.47%, moderate self-efficacy of 61.76% and low self-efficacy of 11.76%. Overall self-efficacy of students is 73.31 in the medium category. Conclusions, based on the data obtained, students' thinking processes on abilities; 1) The self-efficacy of SMA N 1 PAGARAN students after jigsaw type cooperative learning is good; 2) The overall percentage of active student activities used during teaching and learning activities is within the specified ideal time tolerance interval. This study aims to investigate the interest and motivation in learning mathematics for junior high school students during online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in depth and to explore the faktors that influence students' interest and motivation in learning using triangulation techniques, namely observation and interviews. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method with the type of case study research. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri II Dolok Pardamean, Simalungun Regency. The population in this study were all seventh grade students for the 2020/2021 academic year at SMP Negeri II Dolok Pardamean. The sample used was all students of class VII-1, then 3 students were selected for the 2020/2021 academic year. Based on the results and discussion of the research, it shows that most of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri II Dolok Pardamean have high interest and motivation in learning mathematics, which is indicated by the average percentage of students' interest and motivation in learning mathematics, which is 76.46%. In conclusion, online learning that has been carried out at SMP Negeri II Dolok Pardamean has succeeded in increasing interest and motivation in learning mathematics for grade VII-1 students and is in the high category. The success faktor in increasing students' interest and motivation in learning is influenced by teachers and students' family support.
