Abstract-This study aims to identify initial needs for video development for the implementation of character education in early childhood. Needs analysis includes context analysis, analysis of learning environment and needs analysis.The method used in this research is quantitative with random sampling technique. The number of respondents is 30 teachers who teach in early childhood education in Padang City. Data collection techniques using questionnaires. Data is processed by using percentage technique.The results showed that from the context side related to the needs of the curriculum, 80% of children's learning needs assessed the importance of developing video for character learning. Furthermore, in terms of the learning environment as much as 75% assess the use of video learning has not supported learning facilities. From the analysis side learners as much as 88% assess the development of learning video needs to be done for the effectiveness of the implementation of character education in early childhood education.
Keunggulan yang dimiliki oleh media pembelajaran berbasis Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) yaitu dapat membantu kegiatan pembelajaran. Aktivitas pembelajaran yang memanfaatkan media pembelajaran berbasis pada TIK dapat mendukung tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui peranan guru di dalam memanfaatkan suatu media pembelajaran yang menggunakan TIK di Sekolah Dasar. Hal ini terkait dengan masalah pengembangan kompetensi guru terhadap penggunaan TIK dalam pembelajaran. Untuk memperoleh data penelitian digunakan metode penelitian survei. Data diperoleh dari guru-guru di Sekolah Dasar Kota Sawahlunto. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan 53,3% guru di Sekolah Dasar Kota Sawahlunto menyadari pentingnya media pembelajaran berbasis TIK namun belum memanfaatkan secara optimal karena terkandala keterampilan di bidang TIK.
Implementation of character education in elementary school level of its effectiveness is strongly supported by the design of learning environment and classroom with characteristic character. Initial phenomena indicate that many classrooms in elementary schools are not supported by the design of the nuanced space character education, so the implementation of character education is less effective. This study aims to determine the model of nuanced classroom character education in primary schools. The method of research is development research using the procedural development model of Borg and Gall. The trial was conducted at the target school, SD 08 Nanggalo Padang which is a pilot project for the implementation of character education in elementary school. The results showed that the design of learning environment of character education consists of group position, classroom equipped with wet and dry garbage bin, findings of lost items, suggestion box, list of lessons and picket list.
The implementation of online learning insisted the students obtain learning materials from various digital media by applying a self-directed learning approach. Youtube as one of the emerging video-based technological applications gives people opportunities to access information from several resources and experts. This article aims to investigate the impact of Youtube as online resources on the students' autonomous online learning and their perceptions of the use of Youtube for online learning. This research applied descriptive quantitative using questionnaires spread to 141 undergraduate students in the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Padang. From the result, it was found that the students perceived more autonomous while searching supporting material on Youtube, from the initiative, responsibility, self-confidence, decision-making aspects. However, the need for good quality of internet connection and credit have been critical issues while engaging with Youtube. In addition, for some materials, it is irrelevant to use material from Youtube for their specific courses.
