Results of dynamic graciloplasty for fecal incontinence are reasonable for this specific group of patients with limited treatment options. Despite functional dynamic graciloplasty, the results are worse than those for the total group of patients with dynamic graciloplasty. Rectal sensitivity and type of malformation are prognostic factors for outcome and can be used to select patients for treatment with dynamic graciloplasty, thereby improving treatment outcome.

Our technique shows promising results. A local and simple technique with acceptable closure and morbidity rates, like our local repair with biomesh, would be ideal as a first step in treating RVFs. Long-term results are needed.

We have shown some effect of SNS on uterine activity. In premenopausal women we discovered that SNS seems to exhibit no effect or an inhibitory effect rather than an excitatory effect on uterine activity. Based on the preliminary results of this study, we can not recommend any guidelines for SNS usage during conception and pregnancy. A larger study in premenopausal women with SNS is needed to investigate the significance of these changes.

A pediatric robotic pyeloplasty has been performed with the Senhance® robotic system for the first time in January 2021 on a 1.5-year-old girl with symptomatic ureteropelvic junction stenosis. A Senhance® robotic system (Asensus Surgical® Inc., Durham, NC, USA) with three arms and 5 mm instruments was used, providing infrared eye tracking of the 5 mm camera and haptic feedback for the surgeon, facilitating suturing of the anastomosis and double-J stent insertion. The robotic surgery lasted 4.5 h, was uneventful and successful, without recurrence of the ureteropelvic junction obstruction after six months, and with normal development of the patient’s growth and organ function. The use of the robotic system was shown to be safe and feasible; long term follow-up will be conducted subsequently in pediatric surgery.
