A saúde mental é definida por muitos autores como o equilíbrio do bem-estar biopsicossocial do indivíduo, se fazendo necessário salientar as possíveis causas que levam ao adoecimento mental que são: os aspectos culturais, sociais, ambientais e biológicos de cada ser humano. Na atualidade, é crescente a evidência de doenças psíquicas, mediante mudanças tecnológicas, sociais e da singularidade do sujeito.Nessa obra, visamos destacar a contemporaneidade da sociedade que nos encontramos, em especial a saúde mental, a atuação dos profissionais da saúde frente ao adoecimento mental e os prejuízos atuais causados pela pandemia do COVID-19. Dessa forma, um dos vários contextos atingidos durante esse período de crise na saúde mundial, foi a rotina acadêmica dos muitos discentes, suas práticas educacionais, o adoecimento e a atuação prática desses na rede de saúde mental.Destarte, selecionamos o capítulo "OS EFEITOS DA SUPLEMENTAÇÃO DE PROBIÓTICOS NA DEPRESSÃO, ANSIEDADE E ESTRESSE: UMA REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA", entre os excelentes trabalhos selecionados para compor esta obra. O referido é descrito pela autora Miya (2020), de forma sistémica, clara e objetiva os efeitos causados pela suplementação de probióticos através de sinais e sintomas presentes em transtornos mentais como a depressão, ansiedade e estresse citados no texto.

Atualmente compreende-se os coronavírus como importantes agentes virais causadores de infecções em animais e humanos, sendo de interesse da saúde única. Realizou-se uma revisão de literatura acerca da infecção do SARS- CoV-2, analisando brevemente evidências desse agente patógeno em felinos domésticos, suas implicações na saúde única e as provas de diagnóstico em animais. Verificou-se que o coronavírus felino (FCoV), causador da Peritonite Infecciosa Felina, apresenta semelhanças ao coronavírus humano (HCoV) que acarreta a infecção da Síndrome Respiratória Aguda Grave (SARS). Nesse contexto, urge a necessidade de investigar criteriosamente o patógeno Sars-CoV-2 no intuito de compreender melhor seu ciclo biológico.
