Faced with the accelerated growth of cities and the consequent increase in the number of motor vehicles, urban noise levels, caused by vehicular traffic, have increased considerably. In order to assess noise levels in cities and to successfully implement noise control measures or to identify the location of the problem in different urban areas, it is first necessary to obtain information on the noise levels to which people are exposed. Noise maps are tools that have several potential applications as they are cartographic representations of the noise level distribution in area and over a period of time. This article aims to identify, select, evaluate and synthesize information, through a Systematic Literature Review, on the use of different road noise prediction models, in sound mapping computer programs in countries that do not have a standard noise prediction model. From a previous analysis of articles, the choice of topic was based on the identification of a variety of different models for predicting road noise in countries that do not have a standardized model for the use of sound mapping. The papers compiled by SLR showed that studies concentrated in China, Brazil and Ecuador, and that the most used traffic noise prediction models were the RLS-90 and the NMPB, and the most used mapping programs were SoundPLAN and ArcGIS with a grid size of 10 x 10 m. Most measurements were carried out during a 15 min period at a height from ground level of 1.5 m.
This research aims to discuss and determine acoustic performance values for impact noise insulation (L’nT,w) for 39 floor system compositions that have different resilient materials and wooden laminate floor finishing. The methodology is organized according to ISO 16283-2, ISO 717-2 and NBR 15575-3 for classification. The results obtained demonstrate that the prefabricated ribbed slab with prestressed joists and ceramic slabs, as well as the slab and subfloor system do not meet the minimum requirements for acoustic insulation, comprising values of 91 and 84 dB, respectively. Among the other 37 samples, it is worth mentioning that wooden laminate floors with better abrasion resistance is more efficient concerning acoustic performance, comprising impact noise insulation values ranging from 60 to 62 dB, due to its surface density. In the samples that use resilient materials, the performance values vary from 55 to 46 dB.
One of the Sustainable Development Goals for the millennium refers to sustainable cities and communities that includes, by 2030, providing all inhabitants with universal access, among other goals. To do so, it is necessary a more equal distribution of these areas within the urban territory to ensure easy access to them. This article aims to analyze the distribution of these spaces in the western region of Santa Maria city, RS, with about 285,000 inhabitants. The analysis is based on the location of areas officially considered as squares and parks by the municipality and through their actual conditions that allow or not their fruition. The results demonstrate the unequal distribution of these spaces within the urban territory and, in addition, the various conditions of their attractions and maintenance, indicating the need for attention to ensure their effective use by the inhabitants.
