Korpel en J.C. de Moor aan bij deze actualiteit door te verwijzen naar het motief van Gods zwijgen in theologie en filosofie, in literatuur, theater en film. Zij laten zien dat de (post)moderne ervaring van de zwijgende God haaks staat op het getuigenis van Israël, dat weliswaar weet van Gods zwijgen, maar Hem toch vooral kent en belijdt als de God die spreekt. 11 Ik verwijs hier naar het werk van dr. W. Dekker, die o.a. in zijn dissertatie Afwezigheid van God. Een onderzoek naar antwoorden bij W. Pannenberg, K.H. Miskotte en A. Houtepen (Zoetermeer 2011) en in zijn trilogie Marginaal en Missionair. Kleine theologie voor een krimpende kerk (Zoetermeer 2011), Tegendraads en bij de tijd. Verder in het spoor van Bonhoeffer (Zoetermeer 2016 3 ) en Verbonden en Vervreemd. Over de God van Paulus op de Areopagus (Utrecht 2018) diepgaand op de vragen met betrekking tot de aan-en afwezigheid van God in de tegenwoordige tijd ingaat. Hij zoekt tegelijk naar een manier waarop de kerkhoewel teruggedrongen naar de marge van de samenleving -God ter sprake brengen kan en over welke God het dan zou moeten gaan. Zie ook E. Talstra, "God. Biografie van een overlever", KT 67/2 (2016), 97-112 (Talstra, "Biografie"). Talstra zet in bij de worsteling van velen met een 'christelijke opvoeding': 'Houd ik het uit met God? Of niet? En als het antwoord 'nee' was, ging ook meestal de Bijbel dicht.' Hij voert vervolgens een pleidooi voor een opnieuw leren 13 voor mij de vraag des te prangender wie Hij is die door de kerk beleden wordt als Vader, Zoon en Heilige Geest en wat de betekenis is van teksten als Jes. 63 waarin Israël zelf zijn God bevraagt. Bij de actualiteit denk ik ook aan de vragen met betrekking tot God en geweld. 12 De brute aanslag 'in gods naam' op de Twin Towers in 2001 en de daaropvolgende explosie aan religieus geladen terreur in de jaren erna leidden tot een hernieuwde bezinning op het motief 'geweld' in de Bijbel, in het Oude Testament in het bijzonder. 13 Jes. 63:1-6 is dan een van de teksten die de aandacht trekken: God schuwt geweld niet, maar vertrapt in vurige toorn en grimmigheid de volken. De vraag is dan hoe teksten als deze, die getuigen van geweld in Gods naam of door God zelf, moeten worden verstaan. 14 Kortom, er is voldoende aanleiding om de tekst van Jes. 63 opnieuw en aandachtig te lezen. 'Wie is deze?' Met deze vraag opent Jesaja 63. Het is de vraag die door de tijd heen steeds weer wordt gesteld en in elke tijd opnieuw om een doordacht antwoord vraagt. Het is hierbij van belang om allereerst aandachtig te luisteren naar het getuigenis van Israël zelf, dat wil zeggen: naar de teksten zoals ze ons worden aangereikt in het Oude Testament. 15 lezen van de Bijbel: de Bijbel als biografie van God met autobiografische elementen, als de vertolking van Gods eigen zoektocht om het met zijn volk en mensen uit te houden. 12 Ik verwijs naar W.
