Auch mit anderen oxydablen Reagenzien kann das Wasserstoffsuperoxydbild sichtbar gemacht werden, z. B. entsteht mit einer mit Ammoniak versetzten Mangansalzlösung ein braunes Bild aus Braunstein, ammoniakalische Silberlösung erzeugt ein dunkles Silberbild u. dergl. Das Wasserstoffsuperoxyd kann bei Bromsilberplatten auch die Rolle des Lichtes spielen: Wenn man z.B. auf eine unbelichtete Bromsilberplatte ein mit Wasserstoffsuperoxyd behandeltes Negativ einwirken läßt, so kann man die Platte mit einem gewöhnlichen photographischen Entwickler entwickeln, wie wenn die Platte unter dem Negative belichtet worden wäre, und es entsteht ein Diapositiv. Andererseits wirkt Wasserstoffsuperoxyd auf das latente Bild zerstörend ein: Setzt man z. B. eine Bromsilberplatte kurze Zeit dem Lichte aus, so daß beim Entwickeln die ganze Platte schwarz werden würde, und preßt ein mit Wasserstoffsuperoxyd behandeltes Negativ darauf, so wird dadurch nur an den Stellen, an welchen das Wasserstoffsuperoxyd eingewirkt hat, die vorhergegangene Lichtwirkung zerstört, und man erhält infolgedessen beim Entwickeln wieder ein Negativ, welches aber seitenverkehrt ist. Auf analoge Weise kann man aus einem Positiv ein seitenverkehrtes Positiv herstellen. Wie metallisches Silber oder Platin, so wirkt auch Braunstein auf Wasserstoffsuperoxyd katalysierend ein. Es läßt sich diese Reaktion sehr gut verwenden zur Reproduktion von Zeichnungen, Plänen u. dgl. Man bringt die Zeichnung mit einer Lösung von Kaliumpermanganat auf Papier, trocknet in der Wärme, wobei sich bekanntlich Braunstein bildet, und katatypiert. Auf der Reproduktion erhält man dann die Zeichnung als Negativ, d. h. hell auf dunklem Grunde. Um ein Positiv zu erhalten, verfährt man auf umgekehrte Weise: Man bestreicht das ganze Papier mit Permanganatlösung, trocknet und trägt die Zeichnung mit einem den Braunstein lösenden Körper, z. B. mit einer Oxalsäurelösung auf. Es verschwindet an den gezeichneten Stellen der Braunstein, und wenn man hiermit katatypiert, erhält man ein Positiv, d. h. dunkle Zeichnung auf hellem Grunde.Ganz besonders gut läßt sich die Katatypie zur Herstellung von Gummidrücken verwenden. Während das gewöhnliche Gummidruckverfahren ziemlich umständlich und zeitraubend ist, kann man nach diesem Verfahren in verhältnismäßig kurzer Zeit einen Gummidruck herstellen. Man preßt ein mit Wasser-stoffsuperoxyd behandeltes Negativ auf ein Gummidruckpapier, wodurch wieder das unsichtbare Wasserstoffsuperoxydbild auf dieses übertragen wird, und bringt das Papier kurze Zeit in eine Ferrosalzlösung. Es entsteht wieder ein Eisenoxydbild, welches befähigt ist, die Gummischicht zu gerben und wasserunlöslich zu machen. Entwickelt man dann mit warmem Wasser unter Zuhilfenahme von etwas Sägemehl, so entsteht in ganz gleicher Weise ein Bild, wie wenn das Gummidruckpapier erst mit Dichromat sensibilisiert und dann belichtet worden wäre.Zur Herstellung von Katatypien eignen sich nach meinen ...
